Which would you pay OOP for?

We have 7 TS credits, and 9 reservations (one of which is a 2 credit meal). Which ones would you pay OOP for? Everything is dinner unless noted.

Tusker House (Breakfast)
Sanaa
Via Napoli
Coral Reef (Lunch)
Rose & Crown
Kona Cafe
Chef Mickeys (Breakfast)


Also, we may get rid of Kona and go to Wolfgang Puck Cafe - Would you pay OOP for that?

Tusker House breakfast is one of the least expensive meals on your list, so I would pay that one OOP. I always book more TS meals than we have credits for, because we end up sharing food (2 of our kids are "Disney adults") or occasionally cancelling an ADR because of schedule changes or whatever. I make the "OOP or Not" decision on the fly based on what we order. Last visit to Narcoossee's, I paid OOP for mine and DD's meals because we had vegetarian and chicken entrees, which were definitely not worth the 2 TS credits. DS and DH had lobster so their meals were a good value for the 2 credits.

The buffets are set price. For all the others, best bet is to sit down with prints of all the menus and take an educated guess at what everybody might order, and what it would cost. Are there any meals where, if you were not on the DDP, some party members would order differently: just get an app and a dessert, for instance? If so, that meal would likely be less expensive.

Also, remember that the entire group does not have to use the DDP. It might work for you to have 1 adult meal DDP and 1 adult meal oop at the same restaurant, especially if the menu item one person finds most appealing is the least expensive. Or if 1 person doesn't like any of the dessert choices, then pay that meal oop & skip dessert. Oh, and just have water to drink when you are paying oop. Likewise, if you have a child in your group, it might be cheaper to use a child TS credit for one meal but the adults would be better to pay oop.

I would (and am) paying OOP for Sci-Fi. The best items on the menu is also the cheapest - the burgers. We will only need 3 meals for the 4 of us because the burgers are large enough to split.

we just ate at sci fi 3 times last week - it's really very inexpensive there.....would be easy out of pocket..

We pay OOP for Sci Fi and Via Napoli. At Via, we shared a huge pizza and a family style salad and each had a beverage. Everyone was too full for dessert.

I would pay for Sci Fi. It's one of my favorite places but I don't think it's a good DDP value if that makes sense
