We're going to the Prime TIme Cafe for the first time next week, and because I'm hungry I'm trying to make up my mind what I'm going to order everywhere we're going. Would you get the pot roast or the fried chicken?

Every time I eat there, about 5 times, I have had the white meat only fried chicken...it is out of this world

All I can tell you is stay away from the meatloaf. :sad2:

that's so funny you say that! i have the disney cookbook and i make the meatloaf all the time! dh and i LOVE it! maybe you had a bad batch? i made an ADR for january at the 50s prime time cafe JUST b/c i want to try to meatloaf and see how it compares!

Given those two options, I would choose the pot roast. But then, I detest fried chicken.

If you like very dry meatloaf with a drizzle of either ketchup or some tomato based substance get it there. I have a feeling they make it with lean beef. It was one piece about the size of a slice of Banana or zucchini bread (if you if that makes any sense). short and wide.

Meat loaf is a comfort food and a poor mans dinner. It is meant to be made with ground beef (not lean ground beef ) If you use lean beef, your meatloaf will be dry and shrunken. I love meatloaf and grew up on it. I personally don't like it when people try to make it a classic into a gourmet dish by adding spices and ingredients that don't belong.
You may enjoy it and I wish you well. I just didn't care for it. Make sure you get the mashed potatoes with it they are very good.:thumbsup2

OH, I forgot to mention I had it there twice and it was the same both times.

Everytime I eat there I always get the pot roast and have yet to be disappointed!!!

Personally of the 2 I would get the chicken. It looks so good, haven't had it but someday I will get to that restaurant.

Where did you get the Disney Cookbook? Sounds great!

It is funny how we all have different tastes. I have ordered the meat loaf several times and have always enjoyed it. My husband used to always order the roast beef, but once he tried the fried chicken (white meat only), he is hooked. Whatever you choose should be fine; I can't believe they really have any bad meals at PTC. :)

Of those two choices, I would take the fried chicken. I'm not a big pot roast fan.

Count me as another fan of the meatloaf at the PTC! I put lots of ketchup on meatloaf so it doesn't matter if it is a bit dry!

I would say the breaded chicken. You got a LOT of food with that dish and it's all white meat. I got the meatloaf and it wasn't as good as mine but close. I thought about pot roast and none of us did get it so it might have been really good. I would just go with the chicken.

I wish I was there too :(

I always go there with the intention of having something new but I end up with the pot roast, it's just too good. I've had the fried chicken and it was good but after I tried the pot roast there was no going back! I had the meatloaf eons ago and I don't remember it as good or bad so it must be just o.k. I'm picky about meatloaf, seldonly eat it out, I prefer to make my Mom's recipe.

I always get the pot roast there, and its outta this world. Nothing better! ;)

I love the meatloaf and have cooked it at home from my Disney cookbook. My family loves the fried chicken ;)

I almost always get the pot roast, it's my favorite dish at WDW. I once got the meatloaf and, meh. I once swiped a piece of xdgf's chicken and it was god enough to consider eating there twice on one trip.

Everything we had was GREAT! The onion rings were good..PB&J milkshae was great, Fried Chicken, Burger, Fries..Kids meals...you can't go wrong..just get what you feel like eating that day! I went sorta lite one day as it was hot in June and just got a Turkey sandwhich as I didn't feel like eating some hot pot roast..in the winter it could have been different...most of all don't over think your meals when going to Disney World..sure preplanning and knowing the menus is nice..but I think some people on here OVERthink every detail....

I loved the pot roast when we were there in September. In fact I have been craving it ever since we got back.
