We need to narrow down and eliminate two restaurants to keep from paying OOP. Which one would you eliminate and why? Our kids are 5, 7, and 2. We love good food, but we also love the character meal experience for the kids.

Chef Mickey's-dinner
50's Prime Time Cafe-lunch
Biergarten-dinner
Le Cellier-lunch
Akershus-dinner
Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House
Ohana-dinner
Crystal Palace-breakfast
The Plaza-dinner
1900 Park Fare-breakfast

We've never been to 50's PTC. Everywhere else on the list we have been except we've never tried Akershus at dinnertime, just breakfast. Same for 1900 Park Fare. We've had dinner there but not breakfast.

The Plaza-it was good, but just a sandwich place. It is not $ so you could pay OOP-if you want. Not a good use of dining credits IMO.

If it were me, I would remove Chef Mickeys dinner. We were not impressed with the food there at all, breakfast was better but dinner was our least favourite of those you mentioned (except Akershus, we haven't eaten there).

We actually are going pay OOP for The Plaza. We like to save it for the end of the trip after lots of buffets. At that point, a good hamburger and fries tastes SO good. :)

We really liked the 1900 Park Fare breakfast, our DS was 4. A lot of fun, especially since he was familiar with Mary Poppins and liked the movie. Never been to 50s PTC either.

I personally would skip the Plaza, menu doesn't excite me. We loved Crystal Palace for dinner. I would do that and go to Ohana's character breakfast in place of the CP breakfast.

Ohana has Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch in Hawaiian shirts, etc.. It was a lot of fun and the food was delicious, plus a quick ride on the monorail or boat to Magic Kingdom. If you want to get to MK early, Ohana starts breakfast as early as 7:30 in the morning (at least when we were there).

I'm not sure about Le Cellier for our next trip... it's popular so I'd like to try it but I'm afraid it might be boring for children and we already have several signature restaurants planned.

I think there are places in Epcot that are more fun for children like Marrakesh or San Angel Inn or Teppan Edo. Next trip, we are thinking about Le Cellier for lunch and Biergarten for dinner.... but we may switch Biergarten to lunch and do Garden Grill for Dinner (characters) instead.

The food was just so bland when we went, and it was the kind of stuff you could get at a Piccadilly. I wouldn't pay the money to eat there again.

I haven't been to Chef Mickey's in years but have heard it has gone downhill. We are staying in the Contemporary in October and aren't eating there.

When my sons were aged 4 and 6; 5 and 7, they requested to go to Biergarten every year. They loved the lively atmosphere eventhough it wasn't "Mickey Mouse." I would keep that one. Good for 2 year old too since it is a buffet.

Not sure which to eliminate. You have three character breakfasts, so maybe narrow that down to two? Or keep those as they are a good use of the the credits. You could also eat CS for dinner one night. With three kids you may all be very tired and a short dinner in/near hotel and early night in the room may be very welcome. (I think I am not helping much...)

We absolutely hated the Biergarten. It was the worst meal we have had at WDW and will not go back. We like CM breakfast over dinner. I agree with another post about the Plaza. I don't really think it's worth a TS. I'd do Crystal Palace for dinner or maybe LTT over the Plaza. Not to hijack, but why did LTT lose the characters?

Get rid of Chef Mickey's ick!!!!!!!!!! You get the same characters at Tusker House but with cute costumes! I loved Breakfast at Tusker House! Chef Mickey's breakfast is a tradition for my family but the dinner is just ick...its like all the food kinda tastes the same its this weird bland taste like eating things that have all the flavour taken out of them. I don't know how else to describe the food than that. If you have a hometown buffet or old country buffet etc its kind of like that, everything is ok but nothing is great. As far as other restaurants I've done all your other meals love 50s Prime Time, Love biergarten , love 1900 park fare for breakfast (yummy breakfast pizza and cheese scrambled eggs)...id recommend The Plaza to eliminate, 50s Prime Time will give you more comforty food you may want. You can use CS credits for that burger and fries you like :)

Because Disney felt like cutting back? I actually have no idea.

We loved Biergarten and it was top of our list for us, including DDs 3 and 6 this year. I am wondering if Le Cellier is one you could eliminate for kids that age? If they are more into the experiences than the food, you could save that one until they are all a little older.

I can't help eliminate.

Le Cellier was one my niece (almost 6) enjoyed. She couldn't even eat the yummy breadsticks (lactose intollerant). If I remember correctly, she was able to get a smoothie as her drink here. Which was a treat, most places she had to have juice or chocolate soy milk (doesn't like pop).

Haven't been to Chef Mickey's for dinner since 2000. I have heard it's not very good. It was good to us in 1999 and 2000. Had breakfast in 2008 and it was very good. Missed the ADR last year as we planned it on our departure day.

Crystal Palace is good for all meals-We have tried all in the last two years. I would go for the early ADR and get in before the park opens. If you can't consider lunch/dinner or a late breakfast (if you really like puffed french toast).

Tusker House is soo good. Doesn't matter what meal.

50's Prime Time-have only been to dinner. The chicken meal was huge (4 pieces). I have this booked again and I'm planning on sharing with my niece so we could do another breakfast-I will have to pay for mine OOP.

The Plaza is maybe the worst for "value" and even atmosphere. We have really fallen out with Ohana over the food and service the past 2 trips. I wouldn't eliminate any of the others as they are better for the experience.

Hope that helps :thumbsup2

1900 Park Fare waas a wonderful breakfast/brunch. I will go there again. I would lose Chef Mickey's.:thumbsup2

I would eliminate The Plaza (boring menu) and a toss up between 50's and Chef Mickey's. Same characters at Tusker House and better food is my reason for eliminating CM and our crapy experience at 50's last time would make me scrap the 50's.

I think I would ditch Chef Mickey and Prime Time- maybe pay oop for Biergarten, too.

Take this FWIW since I've never eaten at any of the restaurants. I would cancel Chef Mickey's-dinner and 50's Prime Time Cafe-lunch. I hear CM is better for breakfast but most reviews for lunch/dinner are horrible. I didn't even consider it for our trip because of that. Also, my dad and step-mom went to 50's Prime Time and thought it was just okay. My dad is the joking kind but he even found the waittress to be a bit annoying in the end. HTH.

I would cut CHEF MICKEY's. The food was horrid there. NOT worth the time or effort. There are other CM that are so much better:thumbsup2 Then I most likely would cut 50's Prime Time Cafe. Plaza would be up on chopping block too.

My girls love the Biergarten, so much to pick from and have gotten up and they have danced many times with the band plays and the kids get up and dart dancing. Park Faire is a keeper, as well as Crystal Palace.
