Which would you do?

probably DL, only cause I've never been.

You said 6 days right? Then I would pick WDW. You would get a lot more out of your vacation if you went to WDW, as opposed to an incomparably limited amount of things to do at DL. You could spend a whole day "eating around the World" (not just limited to the parks) and I know you could spend a whole day at Disney Quest. I would choose WDW.

Well, I said I'd post what we're going to try for. :)

Today, DH and I are going to find out if we can take off to go to Disneyland. It's been almost 2 years since a DL trip (Gasp!! ;) ) and we were just at WDW last year. The $300 savings before food and souvineers can really be used elsewhere, then add in that at WDW we'd be doing fancy $80-$100 dinners almost every night (that's half of why DH wants to go to WDW in the first place, so they aren't negotiable to him in a WDW trip) but at DL there aren't more than 1 or 2 expensive dinners that we're interested in trying, so we could end up saving as much as $300 *more* in food, we wouldn't be renting a car (I'm too afraid to drive at LAX) so that saves yet *another* $150 (minus however much it's going to cost us to get to DL from LAX), and finally the souvineers... the main thing I usually come back with from DL is books, CDs, or pins. I usually come back with much more than that from WDW, so I'm guestimating that I'd end up spending/wanting to spend about $100 less at WDW.

That adds up to a heckuvalot of savings for us, and all that money can definitely be used elsewhere.

And for those who don't think DL is worth the trip -- we do! I've easily spent 5 days in DL before, and that was before DCA and DD. We'll have more than enough to keep us busy and can move at a more relaxed pace. :)

Hopefully our respective bosses will give us the "go" for November!

6 days in just 2 parks?? Is there that much to do on Disney property in DL? If the trip included side trips elsewhere around the area, I would probably go with it, but if you're talking just staying on property, I would go with WDW.

Remember, those 6 days are including travel. :) So not a full day on either side.

I would pick DL,because I have never been there.

However, to me, $300 isn't enough money to make that huge of a difference ($3000 would be a different story!), so if you've been to both, then choose the place you like better.

i planned a quick getaway weekend last year for DL/So Cal area...ok, i was going out there to see my now DH...anyway, i was petrified to fly into LAX by myself...so i flew into the John Wayne/Orange County (SNA) airport...i did the rental car thing...i was totally alone for this part of my trip. i managed to find my hotel in my rental car by myself from that airport. it was very easy...and i think that airport is closer to DL than LAX. Maybe. you should look into SNA to see if the flights are any cheaper for you! driving really wasn't nearly as bad as i thought it would be...

good luck and have fun!!

Unfortunately, there aren't any convenient flights to Orange County from Houston Hobby through Southwest Airlines. Plus, instead of $500 for air, it'd be closer to $800. :(

Continental could get us there at relatively convenient flights for the same $500, but leaves out of a less convenient airport here.
