Which would you do for Thanksgiving lunch?

We have reservations at both the 50s Prime Time Cafe and the Rose and Crown Pub. We're a big party - 10 people, including 4 kids under 7 - if that plays into the decision. My one big concern with the 50s Prime Time Cafe is that I don't know how well the convivial family harassing from the staff will go over with some of my party. It would also be great to have us all at the same table or close to each other, but we were told that would be hard to pull off no matter where we go.

What do you think? Which would you choose? Is the 50s Prime Time Cafe experience enough to overcome my concerns? Or is Rose and Crown as good?

I always thought that if I were at WDW during Thanksgiving I would eat at Liberty Tree Tavern because they have turkey, masked potatoes and other Thanksgiving type foods. I know its not one or your choices. Of your two you mentioned, I would go with 50's Prime Time. With a party of 10 the wait staff might not mess with you too much. It just seems un-patriotic to eat at the Rose and Crown on Thanksgiving:).

If I had to choose between those two, I'd go for 50s Prime Time. We enjoyed the food there and our waiter wasn't over-the-top/in-your face. You could always simply tell your waiter/waitress that you have family members who wouldn't appreciate the humor and I am sure they will keep themselves in check.

We ate at Rose & Crown once and we didn't really care for it. Of course, we are from Louisiana and like everything either covered in gravy or hot sauce. That could be why we thought everything was bland.

Not to try to change your idea, but we eat at 50's just about every visit we visit. Love it. HOWEVER, we had it on Thanksgiving one time and that is not our Thanksgiving day choice. I love fried chicken at 50's. Their turkey dinner on Thanksgiving was not my favorite. My favorite Thanksgiving Day meal (what we have done every time since...and that has been a few times) has been Biergarten. They can maybe even fit everybody at the same table. They have a large buffet with their regular German fare; plus, on Thanksgiving day, they have the traditional Thanksgiving foods as well. The turkey is wonderful. The atmosphere is great and the entertainment is fun as well. If it were me, and I could get a reservation at Biergarten, I'd be changing to there. This year, we're trying something a little different and going the day after Thanksgiving. We'll be hitting 50's and Biergarten. Next year, I imagine we'll be back to the week of Thanksgiving. Enjoy. If you are like us, you won't be disappointed either way you choose!

tinkerfan1 - I did think about Biergarten. Maybe you could answer these questions for me. First, is the entertainment loud? I like the idea of entertainment during the meal, but I want an atmosphere where we can all talk and connect and enjoy each others' company first and foremost. Second, I have concerns about being seated with random people. In some situations, I would be ok with communal seating, but not for our big family reunion Thanksgiving meal, you know? So...how did the communal seating feel?

Oh - and just in case, I just reserved Biergarten for Thanksgiving lunch. :-) I won't hold onto reservations that we won't use, but I don't want to lose the opportunity to eat there!

We did Thanksgiving at the Rose and Crown last year. I think almost every restaurant serves a traditional Thanksgiving meal...R&C did. And I have to say that a Guinness with Thanksgiving dinner may become a tradition...
