Hello all,

My husband and I are planning a surprise trip for our kids next December. We are going on a 6 day Disney cruise (our first!) and planning a few days onsite at wdw prior plus debarkation night after.

I realize this is quite early but trying to do some preliminary planning and can't decide which resort(s). Dates would be December 3-6 2020 (cruise departs Dec 6) and dec 12th after. I like the thought of CBR to try gondola but fear the long walks and food court items don't look great for our family.

The other main contender for us is POR which I have stayed at once years ago. Food court looks better for us, will have a half day for disney springs so could utilize the boat (but no gondola)

we will have 2a 3c ages 5, 6, 13 at the time.

Planning one MVMCP and 2 day non-hoppers for prior to cruise. If POR would do AK, MK days then do DHS one day post cruise. If CBR would do epcot, dhs and then MK post cruise. I have also thought of doing a deluxe but probably should save the money due to the cost of the cruise.

My husband and oldest loved FOP last time and I have not ridden yet, but probably more for my younger kids at epcot.

Please help me make up my mind!

With the ages of your kids I would recommend PoR - my family of 5 loved it there until all three were too big for the pull down bed. You are still perfect for those rooms. The price is great. The pool and pool bar are fantastic. The food court is something for everyone! It remains my children's Favorite resort - even though we now almost always Stu at BC.

I would stay at POR. That resort is far more charming, IMHO, and I love the pool, food court and boat to DS. If you'd really like to try the gondola, you could always simply go on a ride on your DHS day.

Personally I can't see pairing CBR with a cruise. I love my visits to the Caribbean but CBR is of no interest to me. Too much a caricature of the real thing that you'll see on the cruise?(Not sure your itinerary)
