Folks,
My 7 month window opens shortly, so I can (maybe) switch from AKV to either BWV or BCV for early next April. Both look very nice and we haven't tried either yet, so which would you suggest? :confused3 Just 3 of us, me, DW and DD (18) for Spring Break. I'm leaning towards BCV but BWV would be OK also.
thanks!

Total personal preference. If you think you would enjoy the pool more at BCV, then I'd choose that. If you want to be closer to DHS, then BWV is your choice.

Oh, but wait....You asked which I would choose. Actually NIETHER! :)

Don't know what size villa you want, but you are probably talking about some spring break time, and so I wouldn't be "picky." If your goal is to try all DVCs eventually, then, I think BCV is the harder of the 2 to get in to, so that would be my first request. BWV is larger, and you may get into that one right away, probably preferred view (not to be confused with Boardwalk view). Since preferred view uses the same amount of points as BCV, if you do want to change, then waitlist.

I own at both and go to each. Like lots of DVC owners, I plan extended family vacations years ahead:rotfl: and hoard my points accordingly. Our extended family's November vacation is at BCV, and DH and I are staying at BWV for our New Year Eve trip. We LOVE the standard point costs!

I think BCV and BWV both offer different experiences. I'm a little biased since our home resort is BCV and we love it. It depends on whether you think you would like to go to SAB. If so, then choose BCV since pool hopping is prohibited. Otherwise, I think the locations are great for both. I do find that the one time I stayed at BWV (May 2007), I was a little disappointed in the condition of the room. However, I was under the impression that there had been some renovations, so hopefully, the rooms are a bit better.

Everybody has different likes/dislikes but we prefer the BWV to BCV. We just like the atmosphere there better than at BCV...more to do, more dining options, etc. If, however, the pool at BCV is a draw for you then that might be a better option for your family.

Actually, if it were me we wouldn't pick either property. My favorites are OKW and the VWL.

And just to totally confuse you, I'd prefer BCV. Like dianeschlicht said, it's all personal preference. I love that I can walk out front (or is it the back?) of BCV, stroll to the beach right there, and squish my toes in the sand while I swing in the beach swing. In the evening, I love watching the movies on the beach that are at BCV. Even though I don't swim, I love going to SAB and walking barefoot in the sandy pool area. And lastly, I love the fact that I can get food right there (at BC Marketplace) without walking out into an uncovered area (not good if it's raining). And the topper is that I can easily access my gelato or if I'm really hungry, run over to Beaches and Cream for a sundae.

If I could get BWV Standard View to save points, I'd do that first
If I lucked out and BWV Boardwalk View was available, that would be my second choice.
My third choice would be BCV
My final choice would be BWV Preferred View.

This is because I value points and those standard views are a bargain. After that, its it the order that those rooms are unlikely to be available for you to try in the future. BWV Preferred View isn't that hard to get for much of the year (October to December its hard), but Boardwalk View is.

We chose to buy Boardwalk rather than Beach Club because of the ages of our kids. It seems young families love the Beach Club, but older teens might not be so impressed.

Thanks for all the suggestions and info. I think Im going to try the beach club (if available) and then boardwalk. Hey we're at DVC and not at work, so either chioce (or my original AKV) will be fantastic.
Thanks again!

LOL, I've read this same question over and over and over again. I agree with the above posters in that it seems to be a personal choice. Though, for a first time trip one doesn't know what your "personal choice" may be. ARgh!! was my reaction. I continue to struggle with this same question. :confused3

For me, I went with Crisi. FTW ;)

I actually bought in at BWV to get the 11 month less expensive rooms for my #1 choice. My #2 choice is BCV with an almost tie of the boardwalk view at BWV. Just my humble opinion. Good luck :)

I've never stayed at BCV but I own at BWV so that I can get a BW view. That isn't even possible at BCV. I don't use the pools much when I'm in Florida. Rarely, actually. Stormalong doesn't hold much draw for me. I like hot tubs though and those are pretty good at all of the resorts.

In other words, I would (and have) picked BWV over BCV.

My three children have spent part of our 2 week June trip at BWV the last couple of years, but I think I personally prefer BCV. The food choices at BW for us are really only ESPN or the walk-up pizza window and we could still walk over there. I much, much prefer the pool area at BC and we spend a lot of time in the pool. My children are now old enough to venture out on there own, so next June I'm definitely calling in time to reserve BCV (and VWL, and probably AKV!!! ).
