Which would be cheaper? Cab or Car Rental?

If I only need a ride back to All Star Sports each night from the parks for 10 nights, would it be cheaper to rent a car or take a cab? I HATE driving (especially in strange places) and I will be alone with my 13 yr old daughter. I'm thinking that in Disney transportation will be fine for the mornings. However, at night after we've walked the parks all day, it will be nice just to hop in a car and get back to the resort. Thanks for your advice.

Based on your feelings about driving, particularly in strange places I would say a cab is for you. Not sure whether it would be cheaper or not than a rental car - if you can get a car for 11 days for less than $200 I would say get the car (roughty $20 per night for a taxi - just a guesstimate). How come you are not interested in Disney transportation in the evenings? If you leave a bit early or wait a little while after close you won't have the stampede of leaving at curtain drop. We have not rented a car for park transportation and have been more than satisfied with the bust transportation and you don't have to worry about driving.

I would say if all you really plan to use the car/cab for is to get back to your resort take Disney transportation. Why take a chance of getting into an accident if you have free transporation available to you.
Plus if you rent a car you will have to walk from the gate to your car which could be a bit of a hike. I would rather walk a few yards to the bus than have to drag myself out to the car then wait in a line of traffic to exit the parking lot.

We always rent a car and use it a lot at WDW. However, in your case I'd recommend not renting a car. When you leave the park at the end of a given day, you may not mind hopping a bus. If you don't want to use WDW transportation, there are always cabs waiting. If you rent a car, you'll pay for it whether you use it or not, so why lock yourself into that expense?
