Which would be better?

I just got off the phone with MS. I tried booking a standard view studio at BWV for Mardi Gras week. The Sunday and Tues nights were not available. So I had the option of booking the other days and waitlisting the 2 nights or booking another resort and waitlisting BWV. I choose to book AKV and waitlist the whole week at BWV. I know this lessens my chances of getting the waitlist, but I was worried that I wouldn't get the nights I needed. Did I do the right thing?

I personally would have made the same decision you did. As a matter of fact our upcoming trip is very similar to your situation. I decided to book a guarantee for the whole trip and not have to worry about that one or two nights in the middle of our stay to not come through. I also know the waitlist is less likely to be filled, but I just don't want to chance not having a room or moving resorts/rooms for just one night.

The way I see it, anywhere in Disney World is fine with me!!

The answer depends a lot on your own preferences of which resort you really want to stay at.

If your heart's desire is BWV, another option was to book BWV beginning on Wed through your last night and AKV for the first three nights and waitlisting BWV. If the waitlist fails, then you would have to move midweek to a different resort. If you hate the idea of moving (I would), then you have made the best choice. BTW, a week at AKV is going to be great!

That's the safest option. The best is likely to book both if you have enough points to do so.
