Which WOC picnic meal?

My first choice would be the Taste of Asia, then the American. The European doesn't sound appetizing to me.

Eeee-, which one was the one you heard had the fatty meat? Was it the European or American? Just curious, because that is an issue for me.

I heard someone mention that the lunchmeat in the European was disgusting and fatty. I have read a complaint or two about the All American but I don't think that was about it being fatty. (Either way, I don't like chicken on the bone so that one's out for me.)

Another site reported that they MAY not be doing the picnic meals after this summer (based on demand). I think they will probably continue doing them, but I'm not certain they'll be around later.

Each meal is $14.99 (adult and child are the same price).

I'm bumping this back up because I can't decide which meal to order for myself. I'm hoping a few more people who've tried the picnics will give their opinions!

Hi, Seems to me if you took all the ANTIPASTO ingredients and put them in a nice Italian roll you would have a FILLING meal!! Now WHERE can I get a nice ITALIAN roll?? Joan

We got the All American. Cold fried chicken is a stable at southern picnics, and I thought this was above average, and I stopped eating fried chicken a while ago but would totally order this again.

The coleslaw and potato salad had unique and complimentary flavors to the sweet chicken.

The apple pie was average, but better than most amusement park food, which is what I expect from Disney.

With an AP discount the meal is $12.99, and I believe its $14.99 full price but I know some have reported paying $13.99. I think this is a good deal since it comes with a $3 bottled drink and was being served in reusable bags which combined could cost your $1-$3. So you are getting a better than average them park meal including a drink and dessert for $11.99, trying doing that in most other places in the park!!!

As some have said, you can order them 30 days out for the first show. You can get them day of for the second show. And it is my recollection that after Labor Day there will only be one show so they could cancel the picnic all together, but I would love to see them continue!!

BTW, we also did the dinning option at Ariel's. I perfered the seats for the picnic (I wanted the wet zone.) Plus since I wasn't tied to a table and waiting for my waiter/waitress to bring fast passes I could make sure I got there ASAP to get my seat. (Although the food at Ariel's was delicious, my priority is the show at this point!!_

You could get a sourdough role at the Boudin Bakery!!!

I had the antipasto one night and the vegetarian the next. I didn't think there was enough food in the antipasto picnic, but what was there was quite good. I agree with needing a roll.

I wasn't fond of anything on the vegetarian, except for the dessert. But there was definitely enough food there for it to be a meal.

Now I'm trying to decide which one to order next. May end up going with the Chicken because I can take it back to my villa and microwave it.

It included anappetizer to share for the table, a choice of entre from a list of 5-6 and a dessert platter for the table to share. It does not include a drink. I think the link I listed previously can get you to the price fixe menu for Ariel's and the Wine Country Tratoria.

I got the Asian meal and loved it. DH got the American and only liked the chicken. He said the apple pie wasn't great and he didn't like the rest of it.

I've ordered the Asian for me nd the American for DH. We'll have these next Sunday night. Looking forward to WOC. (now that we've decided to buy PAP's, we've already paid for our Picnic WOC meals! darn!)

My question about the picnic is more about the logistics than the taste. We will be on a very short trip so we're looking into the picnic as a time savor to see WoC.

1)Are we able to pick up our picnics at any time of day?

2)How early before the show did you head over to WoC to get a nice viewing place?

3)We will be there the Thursday and Friday before labor day. Would Thursday be a better choice then Friday or do you think it will matter?

4)Can we ask for FPs to the latest show or do we "get what we get?"

I had the European Antipasto and it was pretty gross. I knew it probably would be so I figured I was just paying the 12.99 to save myself from standing in the FP line.

My son and I (both adults) are planning on getting one of the kids meals. Just looks like a better simple option. We both love uncrustables!
