Which Wii bundle- with Sports Resort or Super Mario?

This is the year we finally get in the game and get a Wii. The question is, which bundle to buy. My kids are 7 and 5. Which game would be more fun? Which would provide more entertainment in the long term and short term? We aren't likely to buy a ton of games... too cheap, hence my budget board addiction . Thanks!

My family loves super mario. There are many levels to play but the best thing is that the four of us can play at once.

I vote for Super Mario too. DS and I have a ball playing that together! Sports Resort got old really fast.

Sports Resort is pretty much just more of the Wii Sports you already get for free. All 4 of you can play Super Mario Bros (or at least as many of you as you have Wiimotes) and you will most likely get many more play hours out of it.

Incidentally I always recommend the Lego games (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, or Harry Potter) for families with kids. Loads of fun and easy to play for all ages. The Star Wars one is the best IMHO and can be found really cheap as the Complete Saga nowadays.

I am not a video game person, and even I sit down and will play Super Mario Bros and the lego games.

Super Mario! We have Resort & Mario Cart. While the kids enjoy both, they consistently still play Cart & have asked for another Mario game this year.

Mario all the way. Unless your kids are just gaga over sports, go with Mario. In our extended family (DH's and my siblings), Mario is the top game in every household.

Thanks everyone! We'll go for Mario. Plus the bundle it comes with is red, which is fun. We also will definitely be getting Lego Star Wars. DS would be sad to have a Wii with no Lego game to go with it. Thanks again!

We just preordered the red Wii last week, and everywhere that sold them carried it in a bundle with BOTH of the games you are talking about... Where are you buying it at?

With the Red Mario bundle, I know you get some "Sports." What Sports is it? I ask because DD has specifically said she wants Wii Sports, but I know she likes the Mario stuff. Are Sports and Sports Resort the same thing?

No Sports and Sports Resort are 2 different games. Sports came with our console but Sports Resort has to have that special motion sensor thing (what is it called) I believe it comes with the game though. We play the Resorts games a lot and haven't even had Sports in to play in a LONG while. I agree with the Lego games, I love them.
