So I have my January 2015 plans all set and my reservation. I am looking forward to the trip. But I may be in a position to enjoy a another week at Disney in Summer 2015. I been contemplating a few different weeks, and wondering what the consensus is here. I am looking at 3 options, the last week of June, the week of July 4th, checkout on July 4th) and the 3rd week of July.

With all of them being close in timeframe I don't expect a big varience in the Florida summer. The July 4th week is my lowest option as I expect crowds will be heavy. But what about the week prior or 2 weeks after? I would love to hear everyones opionions as these are times of the year I am not familiar with.

Thanks!

From your options I would pick the week of July 4th however, I wouldn't leave on the 4th. You will miss out on the 9am Golf Cart parade. It will be hard to leave if you are in any loops on the orange bus route. The fireworks and the parade are fun to experience if you can.

The best time is the first week of June (if I had to pick a summer week). It's not very busy since school isn't out in the northern states.

Hope your trips are wonderful!

Of your 3 options, I'd pick the last week in June. July 4th crowds will be busier than the regular "busy" summer. With the 4th being on a Saturday, that may keep some of the local crowd to just the weekend, but probably not.

I think the end of July is slightly more hot/humid than the end of June, but not by much. I vote for the sooner the better. End of June it is!

Jbrostek, we just returned from 12 days at Disney World, camping. This Wisconsin farm girl can tolerate most any extreme weather, however, the humidity the last week in July and first week in August was relentless. My Midwestern roots tried to fool me thinking it would be a cool morning, NOPE, then perhaps a cooler evening, NOPE. So, we put on our big girl pants, went early, played, rode. Were amazed, were disneyfied, and an absolutely awesome tome. Forget the make up, it runs, thank you Disney for 12 fun filled days. Stick it out, you will never regret.

I would opt for June...the every-afternoon thunderstorms start in July... usually.

I appreciate all of the input. The trip is very high level thoughts on planning right now, but is limited to while school is out. Friends would like to make an RV trip down there and would love the company for the long drive, plus an excuse to vacation at Disney twice in the same year!

Of course if it gets serious and scheduled, then I will have to look into costs of an AP over normal tickets since I need a 10 day hopper for January, and then another 5 day in June.

But I will relay the info on for planning with the group considering the plans.

If I had to only go in that time frame I would pick the last of June. Crowd wise, I don't see much difference (with exception of July 4). The heat/humidity level is basically the same - chances of thunderstorms about the same in that period, so I would say whatever fits your plans best.

Been making more than one trip per year to Disney for a long time. Look into annual passes if your going to use park hoppers for more than three days. They are convenient if you want to make a spur of the moment trip to a park.

I am looking at the AP for those of us that will be going for our 2 weeks in Jan, and back in June. Overall its a 300 dollar savings between the 10 day park hopper for January and the 5 day hopper for June.

We purchased AP in June of 2013, knowing we would be lucky enough to camp at the Fort twice within 12 months. They are not "activated" until you use them the first time. Our first visit was mid October 2013, with Our son and family. Our second trip was in January with our daughter and family. A surprise to us, we went again mid July with our 2nd daughter and family. Best darn choice we made. Now, they will expire in October/November of this year, and at this time, do not see a trip until late December, 2015. Not sure unless hubby and I decide to be snowbirds in January of this Year. Good luck on your decision.

Since I never package my tickets with the site reservation, I have time to decide. I never buy the tickets for the winter trip until the week of anyway. Right now if there is even a 80% chance of a mid 2015 trip I think I would go AP and spend the extra up front and save 150-160 in the end.

We have gone for the 2 weeks leading up to the 4th of July and the last week of June is much more pleasant in the parks.
