Which week would you pick to go?

I am planning our next Disney trip, after 8 years. I don’t want to take the kids out of school since my high schoolers will be in AP classes. Here are my options, can you tell me which you would pick and why? Thanks!

1. One of the last 2 weeks of August this year

2. November 8-13th. I would have to take them out 2 days for this, but they might be ok with it. This trip would be shorter

3. The week before Christmas, December 17-23rd

4. January 21-28 2023. I think my kids will be exempt from most exams

5. Spring break 2023. April 8-15

6. June 2023, after the 10th

I know this is a lot of options. Thanks for any input!

Are the crowds heavy at Veteran’s Day?

I vote 2 or 4. I can't deal with Disney heat from about June-early October. January is one of our favorite times to go. Crowds are (relatively) low, weather is nice (you'll have your outliers, but in my experience unusually in the low 70s)

I'd say either 2 or 3, cooler weather (probably but not necessarily if FL decides to be tricky) and a lovely time of year to be at WDW. Less likelihood of rain, typically only drizzle or light rain.

No telling what the week before Christmas may be like with so many still covid-starved and mobbing WDW. However, we found it delightful when we did that week, only starting to get very crowded a couple days before Christmas. By 12/23, you'll definitely be seeing crowds if the past pattern holds.

There will be decorations mostly up in the parks that week in Nov. but not in all the resorts, and there are some gorgeous ones in the various resorts. Also, the special holiday season activities at resorts and parks often don't begin until after Thanksgiving.

These months have long been our favorites, because even if there in November, you get the loveliness of Christmas as only Disney does it.

Do enjoy, whenever you decide to go.

My kids are 16 & 20. They would not want to miss any days in HS for vacation. They are both super smart with AP classes as well and it stresses them out when they miss for illness. I would choose any time that does not include missed days. Are your kids in activities (sports) where the season starts before school in August? I had to start taking that into consideration also once mine reached HS. I also would not judge by what might be a slower time. The Theme Parks forum has several posts by people right now saying they thought May would be slower. It’s not.

We always go to WDW in the summer, usually June. Yes, it’s hot, but we are up early for rope drop, eat a sit down lunch and head back to the hotel for a swim and some AC. Then we are back in a park for the evening. We like June because we feel like it’s a nice celebration for the end of the school year and a good kick off for summer. The whole summer is ahead of us when we get back. My second choice would be Christmas.

I do like the summer idea, way less stress for them. I just have to convince my husband that we can deal with the heat.

We are from the upper Midwest which is part of the reasons we love summer. We went in March once for spring break and it was cold and windy (cold wind). It was not what we wanted for our escape from the snow. However the next week (after we left) was gorgeous weather.

AP exams are in early May for 2022 and 2023. This is the way(see what I did..) it was while I proctored the exam.

3 or 4. Christmas decorations are great. Weather in December and January can be cool but lack of crowds is worth it.

Oh I didn’t realize AP exams were only in the spring. So the AP course would either be yearlong or in the spring. This is their first year taking any AP courses and they are this semester. So that’s why. You learn something new every day!

I'd choose either August or June. A lot of schools go back in session at the end of August, so crowds will be lighter. It will be HOT but I've been plenty of times in the beginning of September, which isn't really any cooler, and we've been fine.

I'm going just after time #2 (no kids) but it'll all be decorated for Christmas and hopefully "quieter"

Choice #2. We went a few years ago at the beginning of November and it was great. They even had the Christmas party already so we were able to do that as well.

If y'all can handle the heat, I would vote for end of August from a crowd perspective. Though, crowds are all over the place this year and there's no telling which days will be less crowded.
If you go on the Dec dates you listed, we could meet and say Hi!
Mid to end of Jan is historically when we go, but this past year the crowds during that time were crazy! I'm glad we didn't go this year in Jan. Also, if your kids really want to swim, this could be at risk because the weather can get pretty cool during those dates. But it can also be glorious, so it really is a toss-up.
The June dates would also be hot. And prices for some things are higher at that time (I know, everything at WDW is more expensive now). But I was looking at flights from where we are and the June prices are almost double from what the May prices are.
