i voted the week of the 4th since we couldn't get into WL/WLV that week. we're in there w/family and friends the week after.

I voted for the week of the 4th, since Pop Warner is going on that week. I am going the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3, so I'm hoping it won't be as crowded. :flower:

I voted for the 27th November - 3rd Dec, however we are there from 27th Nov for 2 weeks so I guess I'll let you know for sure when I get back. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I believe the 27th - 3rd because it right after Thanksgiving and people will include that as part of the trip and make it an extra long vacation. That is what I would do. ::MickeyMo

I took my#1 DGD to WDW last Dec 3-11. I did not find the parks overly crowded. We never waited more than 10-15 min. for any ride except for Friday night when we did a quick trip back to Epcot because DGD wanted to go on Test Track one more time. We did MVMCP on Tuesday 12/7 and had a great time. We were able to go on Splash Mountain 3 times in a row without any waiting in line. Mickey's Twas The Night Before Christmas was crowded and the crowd was pretty big in front of the castle after Wishes but all in all it was not bad at all. I would definitly go the same time again. :wave2:

Most of the hotels are sold out that week in December and there is still a lot of availability for the week after Thanksgiving.

Historically the week before Thanksgiving week and the week after Thanksgiving week are 2 of the "slowest" weeks of the year....however crowds are up significantly this year, so the "slow" weeks may not be so slow after all.

I would take my chances on that week over the Pop Warner week....the thought of sharing resorts and parks with thousands of minimally supervised kids does not conjure up a happy image in my mind!!

DVC resorts are notoriously packed those 2 weeks to take advantage of the holidays and the low point cost. I wouldn't base crowds by the ability to get in a DVC resort during that time frame.

I've been both weeks in the past, and find they are about the same crowdwise. I did note that at 10 months out , I couldn't get a 2 bedroom standard view at BWV. So I made sure the next trip I called exactly 11 months to get a standard view for a 1 bedroom.

touringplans.com has the first week rated between 4's and 6 (3-4's, 3-5's, 1-6). The second week is divided in the same way.

I would think the week when Pop Warner is there it tends to be more crowded. Plus, with how Thanksgiving falls, there is an extra week in there compared to the past couple years. It is hard to tell which one will be more crowded. We go every year on Thanksgiving Day and stay for 11 days. When those eleven days fall later into December it is much more crowded. When they fall mostly in November, like this year, it tends to be a little less crowded.

That being said, this past year, the crowds seem to be larger -- so I'm not sure anyone really knows.

I voted for the 4th that is the week we will be there and it just seems like alot of dissers and other message boards have members going that week, also heard of a large convention, and pop warner.

Update! Talked to a CM about availability. He said the resorts have plenty of availability (with the exception of POFQ which is booked solid all week after Thanksgiving) starting the Saturday after Thanksgiving up until about Thursday. Things pick up and then on Saturday the 3rd the resorts are completely booked. I don't know if this means all rooms are booked or if Disney only releases certain amounts of rooms.

So as far as room availability is concerned, the week of Nov. 27-Dec 4th is definitely less booked.

I'm sure both weeks will be great. If they were anywhere near as high volume as other busy times of the year, then Disney would raise the prices and pull those weeks out of Value season and make them regular season. I've read LOTS of posts where people have said they were told resorts were full and they walked past plenty of empty rooms. So who knows?

Keeping fingers crossed for pleasant crowds for both weeks!

Shel

Remeber that during the first part of the first week of December, the Pop Warner kids and their families have filled the resorts, but they (along with the cheerleading squads) are all in the competitions at the sports complex, NOT in the parks.

The first part of the first week of December crowds should be light, but as the teams finish their competitions, they will start going to the parks.

Pop Warner, is and advantage if you are not staying in the same resort.
