Which week to pick - Oct 4-11 or Nov 8-15?

We are trying to plan a trip for this fall and have come across 2 weeks that seem to work best with our schedules. They are October 4-11 or November 8-15. We will be traveling with 2 kids (ages 3.5 and 6 months at that time) and possibly some other adult family members. Can anyone offer suggestions on which to lean towards?

One thing that worried me with Nov was the Super Soap weekend might be that first weekend for us. We would not be interested in seeing soap stars so wondered if that helps lighten the other parks or is just the whole "word" a madhouse?

Another factor is that my 3.5 year old loved the waterparks when he was 2 (we went in May). Is it still possible to go to them in November without freezing?

Any insight appreciated!

I believe that week in November will be the end of Jersey Week and the start of Super Soap Weekend.

I'd go for October.

Thought you might like to know that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed in november for its annual rehab.

The Food and Wine Festival will be going on in EPCOT late October through middle of November, which is a ton of fun. There are lots of good kid size portions of foods at the booths for them, and good snacking around World Showcase for the adults!

my thought is the swimming will depend on where you're from - we're from northern nj and the swimming in november is great for us - october is too hot - and the food and wine festival is great

We had to make almost the exact same decision... Oct 4-13 or Nov 9-18... We chose the Nov dates... the basis for our decision was value season, weather, crowds and the Food and Wine festival... As for swimming, we went this last Dec... it was fine during the day...:)

Thanks for all of your help so far. Can anyone answer my question about the other parks during Super Soap Weekend - are they lighter or is everything crowded?

Actually if the Oct dates are the week before Veteran's day, this is not that bad of a week. We were there last Oct during the same time with 4yo DS. We all had a good time. The crowds were very manageable but did get heavier as the week progressed toward Veteran's day weekend.

As for swimming, expect coller temps in Nov. Beginng of Oct temps for us(which I believe were probably above normal last year) were high 80's and high humidity.

As for value versus regular season. That week in Oct will cost more than Nov but if you keep an eye out for discount codes around July (when they came out in 2002) it becomes very affordable.

:D In October, you run into the golf classics which attract a lot of golfers. November does have the super soap weekend, but we have found that usually affects MGM badly. Very crowded. The other parks are ok though.;)

We were there 10/13-10/19 last year because we were having a "fall break" from school, much like spring break. While I know that this is not as common as spring break,(this was only the 2nd year for our kids), it is catching on and we ran into several others there doing the same as we were. Also, the first 2 days we were there the temperatures were in the mid 90's, but we only had to contend with one day of rain, which worked out very well and turned BTMR into one crazy water ride with no wait ;) ! Have fun

:( Sorry, completley and totally not related to the post, but, "fall break"? Don't the children {speaking generally} have enough time away from school as it is? Do kids still have to put in 189 days of school like they used to? :(

Where we live (KY), the kids go back in early August, with summer release in mid to late May. Actually, the fall "break" is a combination of the Columbus Day holiday and 2-3 in-service days for the teachers, so I guess since they are alreay missing the majority of the week they take the entire week off. I also know that not all counties in KY are doing this, but since ours does we use it as a great excuse to go to Disney!

You also have Halloween Horror Nights at Universal in October. A great time if your into that sort of thing
