Ok if you were going to go in December of 2013 which week would you choose?
The first or second.

First Week- a possibility of "Free Dining" but also a good bit of craziness at the Magic Kingdom due to the taping of the Christmas parade.

Second Week-lesser chance of "Free Dining" because of the Pop Warner kids will be there. But less craziness and such at the Magic Kingdom. Certain we won't be staying at the same resort with them, so that may not make much of a difference. But "Free Dining" is a great discount for my family.

According to my research Pop Warner is always the first week of December, so the 2nd week will be more likely to have free dining. We are going the second week. Also, the first week includes the weekend after Thanksgiving, so it may ne busier.

Pop Warner is very likely to be the second week next year due to how Thanksgiving falls next year. I would bet the house on it.

Not 100% accurate. Pop Warner week always starts on the 2nd Saturday after Thanksgiving day. This year, Thanksgiving is November 22nd so Pop Warner week starts Saturday Dec. 1st. (1st week of December)

In 2013, Thanksgiving is November 28th so Pop Warner week starts Saturday December 7th. (2nd week of December)

Actually Pop Warner starts first full week in December, which is the Saturday after the weekend of Thanksgiving.

I go the Saturday after Thanksgiving and leave the following Saturday, as Pop Warner is arriving. The parade taping starts the week after Thanksgiving, sometimes as early as Thursday/Friday and could have to go to Sunday if the weather turns bad.

Free dining is pretty much blocked out during Pop Warner, but I have had it my week starting on Sunday. The Saturday after Thanksgiving has been blocked out.

I am planning on going the second week in December 2013 and already made reservations. I avoided the first week because of Pop Warner. I hope Pop Warner truely is the first week. I am hopeing for a great room discount during this week; I prefer that over the free dining.

I am not sure how you figured your dates, but here we go. Everyone interprets things differently.

Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday of November. So next year, Thanksgiving is the 28th. If you book the week of November 30th thru December 7th, you are good.

If you figure one week from the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Pop Warner will arrive September 7th and leave around the 14th; some people do not stick around after they lose the tournament.

Which week do you consider the first week of December; mine is the 7th thru the 14th, because it is first full week of December, which is the formula they use.

Also, a lot of discounts are blocked out at values and mods, because that is where they stay.

I was under the impression that the first full week meant Sunday to Saturday. That is a week to me. So the first full week would be December 1 to 7th. I am so confused now. I found many discussions today and it seems split between which week is the first week.

Ok, I am quite certain that Pop Warner will be the 2nd week next year, but that is just me. But let me tell you mlamanna, if you and your family are staying at the same resort as they are during that week, it could very possibly ruin your trip. One way to avoid it is to stay Deluxe. In 2009 I pushed back our trip by one week because I could'nt get a room that week at any other moderate and we were at POR with them. I just knew better. I know I made the right decision. I don't really know if you know just how much this could effect your trip if you are there with them at the resort, but I am trying to for warn you ahead of time. Take this seriously.

Really? Thanks for the warning. Are there certain moderate resorts they typically stay in? Is this known in advance? Do you think there would be any promotions on deluxe hotels for this week since Pop Warner will be going on that week? Since they usually stay value and moderate, could deluxe have discounts?

This was posted by somebody on a discussion about dates/Pop Warner

I just rec an email from Pop Waner via "The Disney Team":
The dates for the Pop Warner Super Bowl are currently 12/5 - 12/15 in
2013.

Thank You,

Team Disney

I think some of what's confusing is people saying "the first full week of December" weeks do NOT start on Saturday on any calendar I've seen. Granted I haven't seen a ton of calendars but I have seen Sunday and Monday starts. Regardless it's safe to say Pop Warner starts the first Saturday in December which would put Pop Warner the 2nd week of December in 2013

Pop Warner was no problem when we went December '10. We did not see any of them really. We are going again December 1-8 2013 and trying to get a 2 BR BCV as we are going with 5 adults and 3 kids. If PW is that week it is still not enough to make me change my dates. That was the greatest time I ever had at Disney, during the holidays

I think that they mostly do the all stars, CBR, POR but not really CSR. In 2009 we were booked at POR Pop Warner week, but everyone was saying that they were going to be at CSR so I felt ok. Well when the sh*t hit the fan they were going to be at POR! I tried and tried to get in at CSR and CBR with the free dining I had but no luck. So I just went and pushed out dates back by one week. I haven't yet done a deluxe so I don't know if they or what discounts they might have. Have you thought about renting DVC points if that would work good for your trip?

I do know that this is frowned upon, but you could keep your ressie at POR and make another one at say CSR in someone else's name in your party then you would have two different resevations and then just cancel the one you don't want. (The one that Pop Warner will be at) That is just a thought though.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind and will look into my reservation options.
