Which week in Jan. '06

Should I stay away from MLK holiday week (1/16/06) ??? Is that week much more crowded due to the holiday ?? All comments appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing - we were thinking about a 3 or 4 day weekend w/o kids. Anyone have any thoughts??

We are going in Jan. also. From what I have heard it's best to stay away from MLK weekend. I was concerned about the marathon, but from what I have heard that won't be too crowded. I think we have decided on the 22-29th.

If you are going without kids or do not mind if your kids miss a couple of days when school starts, then I suggest your first day start on Jan. 2nd. We have gone 2 times during this week and after new years the crowd starts thinning and by the 5th the crowd is gone and it is a pleasant stroll around the parks. I would stay away from MLK weekend. My daughters youth group is going then and I know there is a big youth conference there. The last week in Jan. is good to. Stay away from Presidents weekend also, there is a big car race at that time. The prices on hotels drop the first week in Jan. to.
