Which WDW restraunt Surprised You?

Probably the Sand Trap over at Eagle Pines/Osprey Ridge golf course.
First recommended to us as a quiet spot for lunch by one of the "Alberts" at V&A. I wasn't sure about "golf course" food or atmosphere, but we decided to give it a try--and I'm gald we did!! Just a great spot for lunch, a "pure" lunch menu, roomy, quiet, excellent service ,some "good" beer, and good by the glass wines.
Now a must for us every trip!!

We once ate at House of Blues on a whim and it's now one of my favorites.

I don't want to be misunderstood here, but 'Ohana wasn't as good as I had hoped. Not awful, just underwhelming to me.

Le Cellier - I don't even eat meat usually but the food looked so good I ordered the filet mignon..awesome! Desserts & shakes yummy. Assorted cheese platter was great..Our new "must do" every trip

Boma - Thought it would be exotic & that would be it. However the food was good, enough variety, we had a very nice server, great seat, just an overall great experience. DH loved the 3 glass wine sampler for only $9 (in NY that's cheap) Loved the whole thing & the AKL too.

Mama Melrose - Heard some bad things here but we have tried all the other MGM restaurants doing the FDP & just wanted to try something new. Again, very pleasant server..food was very good, dessert delish...good experience over all & would return.

I'd have to say Le Cellier was a big surprise for me. Our food was wonderful, the service was fantastic, and it was a great respite from the Epcot summer heat.
I also really enjoyed Brown Derby. It was a great escape from the sometimes craziness of MGM. Again, fantastic food and great service.

I was most underwhelmed by Boma. Everything seemed to be covered in sweet sauces or spices. For someone who hates sweet dinner food, this was a huge let down.

We ate in France last year and it was delicious. A bit on the expensive side, but we had the DDE so saved 20%.

CRT for dinner. I booked CRT only because I wanted to eat inside the castle, who cares about the food. Well, it turned out to be the best meal DH & I had! It was my most memorable experience :goodvibes

Cosmic Rays: I thought it would be the typical fast food place, however the food was great (love the fixins bar) and we sat outside which was peaceful and a great view of the castle.

Question to all. What Restraunt turned out to be something totally different from what you imagined or told it would be? it could be either good or bad. I'll start; mine was with LeCellier Steakhouse. For many years we had gone to WDW and my wife wanted to try it, but I wouldn't do it , or made ADR's at the other Countries.
I agree, mine too!

Kona Cafe - I don't know why I just didn't expect it to be really wonderful - but it was! DH and I ended up there about 10 pm one evening on our last trip, hardly anyone in the restaurant. We had sticky wings and filet mignon, white chocolate cheesecake for dessert - it was truly the best meal of our trip, excellent. Great service too.

We also ate at the Tangierine Cafe one afternoon and it was also very, very good. Totally different that what we usually eat and we all enjoyed it.
