Hi. I am a mom trying to figure out which resort(s) to stay at on our trip. We are planning to stay an the Caribbean Beach Resort but I might want to split between two resorts. It needs to be something that my son (12) will really like. Has anyone been to Port Orleans (either one) or Coronado Springs? What do you think?

I haven't been to either of those, but I know a lot of people who've stayed at Port Orleans and loved it! I highly recommend the Beach Club and the Boardwalk though.

The Beach Club (Yacht Club too) has the biggest pool!! There's a water slide, a wave like thing, and tons of other cool stuff. Plus the Boardwalk isn't far away, and there is soooo much to do there too! The BW pool also has a huge slide. And on the Boardwalk there are surrey bikes, good eatin and at night there is some cool entertainment! Both are worth looking into!

I would reccomend POFQ. I have stayed there numerous times and it's a great place to stay. It has a great pool and it's very small. PO RS is also nice, but too big in my opp. CS is also very big. POFQ has a great theme and is prolly the best of the 3. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I've stayed at Port Orleans...It is not that great in my opinion...I am 13 and when i stayed there i was 11..My favorite hotel is Polynesian...(COncierge is great)..I've stayed at Polynesian every year since 5 years old...Its the best the pool is nice and it has a GREAT atmosphere...Transportation is very easy too! If you stay in concierge they can help with anything you want! They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet...And the chef is a Spectacular cook and he is the BEST! I see him every time when im down there and he never changes...he is extremely great! I hope that helps!

Hi karylrocks
my family (I be the dad) has stayed at two moderates and a value.. we definately did NOT enjoy the value. Coranado was themed nice, but we got lost easily.. bus stop was close, but the main buildings were a hike.. didn't like the convention center being right there as well. Never did check out the pool and activities.. DD 14 and I went on that one alone.. she just didn't like it there.. neither did Dad.

We loved the Port Orleans Riverside.. course that was our first trip and we were overwhelmed by it all. Kids still talk about that resort.. We are now DVC members and home resort is the beachclub.. If you can swing a deluxe.. I don't think it can get any better than the Y&B clubs.. Just an incredible pool, and you are in the middle of it all! We like to end the day with a ice cream treat from Beaches and Cream.. the place is absolute heaven!!

You might wish to check on the DVC rental board.. there are often points for rent, I know ebay has DVC vacations for sale by members.. A studio apt is comparable (if not larger) than a Deluxe room and would accomodate 4 (albeit crowded)..

Good luck, whatever you decide you will have a great time!
