Which WDW DVC resort feels the most exclusive?

Just so we're clear, I don't consider this a positive "feature" of DVC. And, it's only anecdotal. But, it is something that both my wife and I have noticed over the years.

I am sometimes struck by how...monochromatic...the guests at DVC resorts are vs. those at offsite places; the guest mix is a little more diverse even at some of the top-shelf offsite resorts. I'm not sure why that is, but it is noticeable.

We are a polychromatic (multiracial) family and I have to say that the "monochromatic" aspect had not struck me as more noticeable in the DVC resorts as compared to the parks.

Really? When are we going to let go of this old timey stuff? This belongs with black cats, mirrors, ladders and umbrellas.

I'm confused. Are you saying that a man removing his hat when he comes indoors to a public building (or restaurant) is a superstition? Because all of your examples seem to be superstitions.

hahaha..."not removing your hat indoors will bring you bad luck."

That's a new one.

I feel pretty special at any Disney property. From Pop Century to BCV/BWV/OKW/BLT to Swan and Dolphin, I hope I never, ever stop feeling it. :)

Good manners are ageless. :flower3:

Definitely not BWV. Spending so much time in the bus going To the non-Disney Swan and Dolphin while ADRs start does not leave me with any warm feelings about DVC.

will always love BLT. too me it has everything - plus a short walk to the MK.

others disagree.

but hey everyone has different taste and needs - that is why each and every DVC resort is liked/loved by different members.

what makes BLT so nice - being able to watch the wishes in your room or several other places in the resort. Love being able to go to TOWL and see it there.

It all falls under the heading of people trying to tell others what to do even if it makes no sense at all. How can not taking a hat off indoors be considered rude for a man, but acceptable for a woman? Thats right, you can't figure out why, 'cause it doesn't make any sense.

As a fellow BLT owner- I agree with you. BLT's LOCATION- both from a day-time perspective (easy walk to MK and on the monorail for EPCOT) AND night time perspective (TOWL, Wishes, California Grill, water parade, etc.) always struck me as aspects that made BLT truly "unique". Also- as a Walt nut- the fact that BLT is a more modern-design and arguably more in line with Walt's original vision for the "Florida Property" (i.e. EPCOT community, etc.) always appealed to me too. BLT just kind of feels like to me what one of Walt's modern "EPCOT" apartment buildings may have been like had his vision ever been realized...

At the very end of the day though- I prefer to think of Disney as never really being exclusive (leaving Golden Oak aside for the moment) in any meaningful way. The magic should be for everyone in one way or another... even if some stay in nicer accomodations (or build million dollar homes on property). At the end of the day where your head hits the pillow each night is really secondary IMHO to what WDW (and all Disney resorts/parks world-wide) is really all about...

I don't feel like DVC members get special treatment as opposed to cash guests...but what is special about it to us is having all the space to spread out, which is why we bought a DVC membership in the first place. It affords us to stay in a 1-bedroom villa because we couldn't afford to do that on cash each time and keep going to WDW. I'm sure regular deluxe hotel guests get treated more "special" but it doesn't bother us. We're simple and easy to please.

On our last trip, the villa was guaranteed to be ready at 4pm (BWV's policy, and I think the other DVC properties as well), but it wasn't ready for about an hour more. The CM at the front desk immediately told me that she was giving us a $50 credit on our KTTW cards. I don't think this was any more than they would have done if we were staying on cash, but I thought it was great that they did that.

I had the same exact experience. We arrived at BLT and our room was not put into the system so it was not clean - we arrived at 8pm so they had plenty of time! The manager came out and they gave us a $200 resort credit. They did not have to do that but it was great customer service.
