Which WDW attractions will you NOT do, and why?

Peter Pan... The ride is cute, and my dd's like it. But, it always seems to have a long line, and I am not usually willing to invest at least 1/2 hour waiting for it.

WHile I do think some of the MK "classic" rides are outdated (IASM, Speedwat, Jungle Cruise) we go on them becasue the dd's like them.

I won't wait in line for Dumbo or the Grand Prix. And it's been a very long time since I've seen ANY movie in the World Showcase. Other than that, I'm pretty much for anything!

While I wish I could fit everything into my schedule, I have yet to be able to stay at WDW long enough to do everything in one trip. Someday...

But for now, the things I *tend* to skip are :

1. Snow White (outdated, boring)

2. The Movies at the World Showcase (boring...although I am going to check out Impressions de France this year for the first time)

3. Tea Cups (outdated, looks more like something you'd see at a local amusement park)

4. Dumbo/ Magic Carpets (cute but I refuse to wait in line for an hour for either , look more like cheap amusement park rides)

5. Carousel (long lines for what I think is a boring ride.)

6. Speedway (outdated, not really my thing)

7. Much of the Wonders of Life Pavilion - esp. The Making of Me ( I'm not into health and I certainly don't want to see a where do babies come from film on vacation at Disney)

8. Country Bears (I don't like Country Music, and I've seen this show about a zillion times and to me, it's adorable but outdated)

9. Astro Orbiter (fear of heights)

10. Mickey's Toon Town & all the rides therein (I've never traveled with small children, except once, and that small child preferred staying at the hotel at the pool)

11. Playhouse Disney (see last reason)

12. Sounds Dangerous, Millionaire type shows (I never get picked and I don't usually have time to get there early enough to be picked. I think they are both kind of dull, I might check them out this time though)

13. On my upcoming trip I will most likely be skipping a lot of the live shows due to lack of time. One day in each park in Feb with short hours. I don't really want to force my boyfriend to sit through the hyper-girly shows like the Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast. Tarzan , Pocahontas' Forest Friends and Festival of the Lion King are all good but I don't think I'll have time.

Plus , I'm still bitter about the Hunchback live show being gone. That was a Broadway quality show. I like all these shows, but time won't allow for it. At Animal Kingdom, I would like to check out Flights of Wonder because I really like birds, so if time allows, I will. I've never seen it.

Someday I want to go and be able to have a few weeks to do everything, kiddie rides, films, shows etc...

And I'm not much for parades...but I usually get caught up in the excitement as they pass by and stop for a bit to watch.

I've also done everything at least a couple of times. The only one that I won't repeat is Alien Encounter. It is a one-timer if ever there was one. Glad its closed now.

Everything else is on our list. We may not do it every trip, but we don't rule it out.

Steve

I can always miss Dinosaur at AK and Universe of Energy at Epcot. I HATE dinosaurs. No idea why just always have. I especially dislike things jumping out at me. Also can miss Honey I Shrunk the Audience. The snake ruined it for me. Other than that I can ride everything. Would never miss RnR or ToT!!!

Another vote for Kali Rapids! My dh thinks I'm a wimp because I don't want to get wet on this one, but he refuses to do the teacups.

In the "Been there, done that, not doing it again" category are Astro Orbiter, ToT, Astro Orbiter, Mad Hatter's Teacups, and did I mention Astro Orbiter? Never tried, never want to are Primeval Whirl, Mission Space, not sure about "Bug's Life".

While I don't 'hate' these attractions, I feel absolutely NO need to EVER do them again! :)

Jungle Cruise
Indy Jones Stunt Show
Country Bears
Kali River Rapids (This is one of DH's favorite attractions, though! I always wait on line with him & then scoot on out....I HATE getting soaked on rides - YUCK!)

Rides I refuse to do: Rockin Roller Coaster (don't like coasters, especially ones with inversions), Kali River Rapids (Don't like walking through theme parks wet all day), Playhouse Disney (No kids)

Rides I've been on and won't do again: Sounds Dangerous (worst ride at WDW)

Rides that I'll go on, but usually skip: Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, TriceraTops Spin, Space Mountain, Universe of Energy, Cinderella's Golden Carousel CircleVision Movies, Tom Saywer's Island, Indy Speedway

Alien Encounter, Tea Cups, Astro Orbitor, Dumbo, Magic Carpet, Speedway, Country Bears, Tiki Birds, and anything at Toontown. However, I DO RIDE: IASW, SPACE MOUNTAIN, KALI RIVER RAPIDS, ToT, Splash Mountain, Dinosaur, and PRIMEVIL WHIRL-I LOVE this one!::yes::

Tea-Cups, Astro-Orbiter, Dumbo (and all it's "cousins") and any of the World Showcase movies.

I won't ride any thrill ride (or even the ridiculously tame "roller coasters" like the Barnstormer), so I won't even bother listing those. I get motion sickness--yuck!

Other than that, I won't do the Swiss Family Treehouse (boring to me), the Tea Cups (motion sickness), Kali River Rapids (don't want to get that wet), etc. The thing I love about Disney World is that there are so many rides/attractions that I do enjoy. I love the fact that it has so many well done attractions that aren't thrills. :)

I will not do:
1. Space Mountain - once was enough. I thought I was going to die. It seemed like I was on that thing for an hour.
2. BTMRR - I had a bad experience the last time I rode it (I sat in the last car) & never went back.
3. Astro Orbitor - Once was enough.
4. Tea Cups - Never rode it & probably never will.
5. TOT & RnRC - Never will ride these 2.
6. Primeval Whirl - It makes me sick just to look at it.
7. Body Wars - Nobody I go with likes this ride so we don't even go in the pavilian.
8. Mission Space - I can't imagine myself on that ride.

I don't do simulator rides, so that means no Body Wars or Star Tours for me. I also won't do Alien Encounter--I don't really have a good reason, I just don't want to!;) No Astro Orbitor either, just not good enough to stand in that line. I also chickened out of MS on our last trip. I was sooooo scared it would make me sick! I really am going to get on it nest time.

There are several I wouldn't do if it weren't for ds (4): Dumbo--line is always way too long. Speedway--long lines again! Teacups--no spinning please!

Good question!princess:

Won't ride: Tea Cups Reason: Makes me sick
Star Tours Ditto
Body Wars Ditto

Haven't Tried: Astro Orbiter, Primevil Whirl, Triceritops Spin (?)
Reason: I'm afraid they'll make me sick

Also feel no need to ever enter Disney Quest again; noise and lights give me a headache, and the simulators make me sick (big surprise, lol)

Love, love, love ToT, RnRC, Splash and Space Mtns, (can live w/o BTMRR though)--they don't make me sick at all! I don't mind getting wet on Kali as long as it's not cold--feels great on a hot day!

Oh yeah, I think Sounds Dangerous is the dumbest attraction ever. Won't be wasting time on that one again.

Jungle Cruise *is* cheesy, but I enjoy the boat ride. Ditto IASW.

What are all of you complaining about? Are most of you who replied 'Moms?" Each one of you sound like me! LOL!!!!!

Actually, I'm glad I found this thread, as I could've written almost every one of these!

I have a very bad problem w/mostion sickness, so DH and DD end up doing all of the above-mentioned w/out me. (I stand and hold the backpack and camera.)

I do love BTMRR though, and could do that several times.

But as far as anything that goes in circles, watch out!

Now that Alien Encounter is closed to include Stitch, there are no attractions that I absolutely will not do... however, I really don't enjoy the circle vision movies in Epcot as they make me dizzy, or the Hall of Presidents (boring), so I usually opt out. Usually we skip the Tomorrowland Speedway due to long lines, as well as the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, as my knees just won't like me very much, if I do it. To be honest, It's Tough to Be A Bug and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience isn't my cup of tea, either--- there is something about those critters crawling on my feet, and that sting in the back that just doesn't do it for me.

While this doesn't really apply to Disneyworld, I am one of these people who will not go into haunted houses, or wax museums where things pop out at you. We have a place near me called Spooky World that has a bunch of haunted houses for Halloween. NEVER AGAIN.

The Haunted Mansion at Disney doesn't bother me because it's well, cute, but there are even a few scenes in it that freak me out.

Dinosaurs popping out at me is a bit better than ghouls and skeletons.

I cannot handle the Star Tours ride. I was fine with everything else but this made me very sick. Weird that I could handle te coasters and all the others that we tried but Star Tours did me in.

fun thread! :smooth:

Unless it's 100º and I'm reallllllly in need of a good cool down, I'll continue to avoid Kali Rapids at AKL. Walking around drenched and in shoes that squish isn't my idea of fun.

Two rides I like but just can't handle are Star Tours and Body Wars. :(

I used to avoid the Astro Orbiter and Teacups but have learned to look straight ahead or to close my eyes and I feel ok when I get off.

Strange how Dumbo has never made me sick. :D

I've never seen Oh Canada or the movie in the China pavillion at EPCOT, but I think I'll be checking both out on this next trip.
