Which way to book for most flexible cancellation policy?

Starting to explore our options for June 2025 trip to Aulani. We are not DVC members. I’m overwhelmed by the various ways to “book”
Aulani. Honestly, most important thing to me is ability to cancel if something comes up. I’d be totally stressed if I couldn’t cancel without option of refund or at least a credit. We always travel with insurance, but I prefer to book with some sort of cancellation policy.
So what are my best options? Thanks!

Book direct for the most flexibility. The problem comes in with renting DVC points. You can get a great price that way, but typically are locked in without the ability to cancel or change dates.
