Hi. What is the "rope drop"? sounds scary, like we might be crushed to death!!! strategies, comments anyone?
thanks

They have pretty much done away with the old "rope drop." It used to be that they would literally drop the rope into the park and everyone would run....and I do mean run to their favorite attraction. I admit, I loved it, but I can see how some might not.

Anyway, now the cast members walk everyone behind the rope to the attractions when the park opens. This is especially true at MK to get to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain, and DS to get to Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster.

The only fear now is the body odor you endure as they guide you like a pack of mules to wherever you are going.

I always liked the old way, because by the time the rest of the crowd started to catch up with us, we had already ridden the ride once and got back in line with virtually no wait!

Depending on when you go, it could be a "non-event". Sometimes there aren't enough people to create a crowd.
