Which way do you walk around the world?

  • Clockwise (Mexico --> Canada)

  • Counter-Clockwise (Canada --> Mexico)

  • Where's Epcot?

The poll about which country is your favorite in Epcot sparked this question. So far, Mexico is in the lead - but I was wonder if this has to do with which way you go around the world. I always seem to start at Mexico and go clockwise - by the time I'm around France and getting towards England I'm kinda in sensory overload and I'm not really paying attention. I keep telling myself that I'm going to go counter-clockwise next time, but I always seem to find the fastest way to Germany (for the wine) and that's clockwise!!

So which way do you walk around the world?

I always seem to start at Canada, but really it depends where I'm going for lunch that day. If I'm eating at Mexico, Germany, or Italy however, I'll start on the Mexico side insteed, but usually it seems I start on the Canada side and eat at UK, France, Morocco, or Japan.

We normally go clockwise except when the food and wine festival is on then we go counter clockwise to get to Australia and New Zealand for the wines ;)

Counter-Clockwise (Canada --> Mexico)

Love the beaver tails...yummy

I really think it just happens to be on whatever side of future world you happen to be on when all of a sudden you realize the world showcase is opening

We only visit WS when we are planning to eat there. Our two favorite spots are Alfredo's and Le Cellier. If we're going to Fredo's we try to catch the launch. If it's LC, we walk to Canada.:earsboy:

We do both. If the first day in Epcot we start in Mexico but don't get all the way around, the next day we start in Canada!

That's exactly how we do it too!

I have done counter clockwise more often then clockwise, so I picked that, but I have done the other way several times, and noticed many things in countries that I didn't notice because I was tired or rushing by the time I got there

We now stay in the Epcot Resorts area, so we enter through the International gateway entrance between France and England. I guess we start by going clockwise to England and Canada, then backtrack counterclockwise to France and beyond. When we are heading back to the WS from Future World we usually do Canada first.
In the old days when we stayed off property and The WS opened at the same time as Future World our favorite move was, when the park opened, walk through Future World, catch a FreindShip across the WS Lagoon and start in Japan or Germany. We would have the countries on the far side of the lake to ourselves for the first hour or two. I guess that is why they no longer open the World Showcase until later.

It's so funny that this post is here. I just finished discussing this very thing with my sister and friend. The first day we were at Epcot we started at Canada and it just felt totally wrong. So the next time we started with Mexico, way better ;)

Well, since we usually stay at an Epcot resort, we enter the park between France and UK most of the time, so we don't usually do a full loop. Usually we split it up: Canada and UK together, then one time it'll be France, Morocco, Japan, another time it's American Adventure, Italy, Germany, and China, and one more time for Norway and Mexico. Usually we'll combine a Canada-UK or Norway-Mexico visit with Future World time.

...so much I didn't know - or had forgotton about! Oh yeah - there's a shuttle accross the lake! Duh! :crazy: And I don't think I understood how close the Epcot area resorts were until my last trip. We bought DVC then took the boat to Epcot - and WHAM-O! We were there lickety-split! I didn't even consider the international gateways!! ('cause I didn't know they were there!)
