Which water park?

So we will be at Disney in July and have decided to try and do both water parks in one day (unless we get to one and just love it and don't want to leave). Our party is going to have 1 person in their early 20s, 2 in late 20s/early 30s, a child, and two older adults, which park do you think will suit the needs of our entire party better than the other?

When looking at the parks rides online, it seems Blizzard Beach has more thrill rides, but I'm not sure if there will be enough there for a younger child. Typhoon Lagoon looks cool but I haven't been able to find out to much info on that many rides.

I'm thinking as a group we'd probably end up spending more time at TL than BB, if you've been to both of these parks which do you prefer? Which have you spent the most time at?

We may have to do these parks on their own days, which we can do because we'll have park hopper passes. I was just thinking it'd be nice to hop from one of the parks to the other and do all our water park fun in one day.

Any advice/suggestions?

I haven't been to either one yet so I can't help you there...but just know you can't "hop" water parks. They require a separate admission from the 4 major parks. If you went to both water parks in one day, it would take 2 admissions or 2 pluses on your MYW plus tix.

We went to both in Aug. 2001 and then TL in Aug. 2004. Love TL. BB was not as shady, witch you really need in Florida in the summer. And those thrill rides all had very long lines. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yeah I know going to both on one day will take 2 days off our tickets, I'm not really worried about it though cause I don't see us using Disney Quest or Pleasure Island more than once a piece (if at all) and so that would still leave us plenty of room to go to the water parks in more than once.

Yeah TL looks like it will have more for everyone to do, we will probably go to BB first and the TL and spend most of our time there.

BB has awesome rides. TL has awesome atmosphere. Personally, I like going to TL the best. If I have a PAP or unlimited Water Park entries to use, I will go to BB for a couple hours to do some rides first thing in the AM. TL I can spend longer at.

Another vote for TL. A relaxing atmosphere -- everyone will LOVE the wave pool. They added the Crush n'Gusher slides last year (a "water coaster") and there is lots of variety of other slides. We always find the lines at TL to be shorter than those at BB, but maybe that's just us. Plus there is the shark reef - our kids did it at 8 and 10, then again at 9 and 11, they loved it!

I agree. BB has little shade, but the kids liked that park more than TL.

My family love TL the most as I find the atmosphere of the park to be better and I think it has more things that the family can do as a whole. That being said we do always have a day at BB because it is a good park just has a lot more rides and the main pool isn't as good!

My teens want to do the water parks as well. Our plan is to hit the theme parks early stay till 2 or so and then spend the afternoon in the waterparks when the heat is at it's worst. That will be our afternoon break from the June heat and I have read the parks start to thin out about 2-3. We have 6 plus options on our tickets so like you I don't worry about wasting one for a partial afternoon.

we have done both water parks and i found the atmosphere at TL a bit more relaxed then at BB. at BB the energy level was definitly much higher. i guess thast is due to the fact there are more thrill type rides there. TL definitly has the better wave pool. just incredible and powerful waves. there were a few times that i felt like i was back in the surf at Rockway beach. still we had a great time at both parks.

after re-reading you post again i think that BB does have a section that has tamer water rides that may suit the child in your group.

We feel exactly the same as you! I think there are positive parts to each one!
