We are heading down in September. Our boys will be 2 and 4. Which water park is better for our boys Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

We liked Blizzard Beach the best, we liked the kids area best. But they are both good.

We are hitting the water parks for the first time this year. My DS is 9 and DD is 6. I think we are going to Blizzard beach first because it does seem a little more younger kid oriented. The big water slide that looks like the giant slide at the fairs, and the water is only ankle deep at the end. My DD is not real fond of going underwater.

We preferred Typhoon Lagoon best and at the time we took a 2 yr old, 5 yr old, 9 yr old and 12 yr old. Blizzard Beach did have a sandbox type play area and the kids did like it, but liked Typhoon Lagoon best. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I personally liked the scenary (tropical feel) at Typhoon lagoon better than the white iceberg and ice blocks at Blizzard Beach.

we are debating this also, our kids are seven and very tall, so height is not an issue, but the slides look pretty intense at BB, so I know my son will be fearful of those, so I guess we are leaning toward Typhoon. What about water shoes, the last time we went the kids were small and we pretty much stayed in the kiddie area the whole time. I am wondering if we will all need to wear water shoes all day? We are going the end of JUne. Anyone have thoughts on this.
Thanks

I had all of us wear water shoes---just because the older boys could go from ride to ride or get something to eat and walk on the hot pavement. It made things easier for everyone and we didn't have to go looking for our sandals or flip-flops when we wanted to eat or meet up somewhere else in the park. The kids didn't mind and weren't bothered by them.

We took kids age (almost) 5 and 2.5 to both BB and TL in 2007. They both liked BB much more. The kids area at BB has better slides. It was less crowded. It had better theming. BB also has a tween area that the 5 year old liked a lot.

TL has some good stuff, but my kids were too little to really appreciate it.

Blizzard Beach gets my vote. It's geared more towards the young ones with the theming.

The family raft ride, Teamboat Springs, is super fun for all. The kids area is great.
