Which waterpark is more handicap and toddler friendly? Any advice for first timers?

Things may have changed in the years since we’ve had a little one, but we preferred the small kids area at Typhoon Lagoon, we also thought that park was shadier than Blizzard Beach..

I guess it depends on the handicap, but if you're talking non ambulatory, I'd say neither is exceptionally "friendly". Perhaps BB has a bit less sand than TL. I honestly don't see too many wheelchairs and the like in either of them.

As for kid friendly, they both are. BB has a more organized area, two of them actually. Tikes Peak is for really little ones and Ski Patrol for ages roughly 4-11. TL has a kids area too, but it doesn't offer quite as much.

They are both fabulous parks, you'll enjoy either of them.

I voted BB for being more toddler friendly than TL (we like their kid’s splash area there marginally better), but unfortunately I can’t comment on either being handicap friendly. You may want to ask that question on the disABILATIES Board for better input: https://www.disboards.com/forums/disabilities.20/
Thank you so much! I am not sure why I didn’t think about that 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 duh. I forgot about that board. thanks so much xoxo

Thank you, I use a cane in my normal life and around Disney I need to use a scooter because I just can’t walk that far. I think I am concerned about parking my scooter and having to walk short distances away because obviously I can’t bring my cane in the water or leave it on the side of the pool, lol . Just get a bit nervous you know in new situations. I want my toddler to have a fantastic time. The less I hurt the more I can do with her. Thank y’all. I am going to go to the disability board but I would like to know if y’all have any tips for a first timer. what do you bring with you ? Do you need to get a locker and stuff? Do you need to bring a towel or do they have them there?

We bring our towels from the resort so we can use them on the bus, but they also have towel rental if you dont bring your own.
Dont forget you can move from one water park to another. If you choose one and its not working out you can go the other. Sometimes we go to one when they open stay for awhile, go get some lunch then go to the other in the afternoon.

Omg that’s brilliant advice. I had no idea you could do that! Thank you for that information.

Yes, you can get towels, but as suggested just bring your own. They have lockers there, and I suppose it depends what you plan to bring in. We've gone to the water parks at least 25 times each (so 50 total) and never had anyone touch our stuff. Even if they did, we don't bring anything at all of value. Old ratty clothes and some food, that's all we bring. If you bring valuables in, put them in a locker for safe keeping. Oh, we do bring sunscreen, hats, flip flops, etc...too. But again, nothing of true value.
