We have 2 kids DS9 total fish. DD6 is a good swimmer but timid. I was thinking BB she loves to watch the one Disney video when the kids are at BB she like the slides with the blue foam mats, thinks they look cool. But I heard TL is better for kids.

TL is much more family friendly. In fact they even advertise BB as being more for thrill seekers. Also, BB is very hot b/c it is all white and not alot of shade. I prefer TL because of the laid back atmosphere. You can hop on a float and enjoy the scenery or hop on a family raft and go down some cool slides. I really like the fact that they have sandy-bottom sections at TL as well. The kids seem to like the sandy-bottom areas. Also, the wave pool is always fun. I think all around it is better for little ones and families. When your kids are older I am sure they will love BB.

We prefer TL over BB. The theme of the place is more relaxing an dit seems more family friendly when you have kids that differ on the anoubt of thrill they want out of a water park. My kids are 6, 7 and 7.

Oh, I have to disagree -- we loved BB, far more than TL. Although TL is prettier, BB has a great pre-teen section which my kids loved back when they were 5 and 6, and then again when they were 7 and 8. TL just has a very small preteen area, otherwise it is just for tiny kids or more adventurous ones. Going down the big hills on the blue rafts, all at the same time, was a magical moment for the four of us. I highly recommend it!

BB definately my DD's were 7 & 9 last trip and they much prefered BB. We did both BB and TL then gave them a choice to revisit and it was a resounding BB. Yes there are thrill slides but also lots for the 7 year old. We didn't even really use the kiddie section.

I know this question might sound funny, and its a little off topic.
Are my children too young to really enjoy the water parks? I have a 8,6,soon to be 4 year old. The 8 year old is fairly comfortable in the water, not a major swimmer but does ok. My 6 year old is still a little scared of the pool, I think he would like the raft rides but not sure. The baby scares me, he is such a dare devil. I am just curious what everyone thinks. Also if you do the water parks, how do you schedule them around everything else? Do they max out to where you can't go if you don't go first thing?

We didn't go to the water parks on this last trip... Something about winter and water not being a great combo. But the first trip down we went to a water park that had a lazy river going around it.

I got on a tube and had my 2 1/2 year old lying on my chest. We must have floated around the park for a couple of hours. I had a perfect silhouette of her sunburned on my chest.

But BB is the family first choice, and would be GREAT for a 6 and 9 year old. The Ski Patrol area is perfect, with lots of fun for the 10 and under group. The family raft ride is great ! You'll want to do it over and over. Wave pool there is calmer for the younger kids (TL is alittle dangerous for small kids). The cartoon theme is lots of fun and very Disney. My Dsis just went with 9, 7, 7 girls and they loved it. They did plenty of the slides. I just went with my DS who is disabled and there was plenty he could do. I don't consider it a thrill park at all once you take out the two big slides.

Plus for Typhoon is Shark Reef, very powerful Wave Pool and beautiful landscape. I consider it more an adult atmosphere.

I have only been to Typhoon Lagoon so I can't speak for Blizzard Beach. I took my daughter to WDW for a mom/daughter trip last year when she was 6 and I let her pick a waterpark and she picked Typhoon Lagoon. She LOVED it. It was perfect, pretty low-key, none of the rides were really too much for her. I was afraid Blizzard Beach would have been too old for her. It is Disney though so I think kids would find something they loved at either place.

never been to BB but our girls LOVED TL!!! Just fyi...they are 10...9 and 6

Don't forget that during the winter months only one of these parks is open at a time. When we go in 3 weeks, only BB is open. TL is closed for repairs!
