Should I request a certain view at VWL? We are getting 2 studios in December. Also, can you see the MK fireworks from the resort?

Thanks!

VWL are mostly woods view, about 85% of the hotel. There are only a small few rooms that look at the pool and an even smaller amount that look at service areas. I would just stick with requesting nice view (so you don't end up looking at that pesky dumpster at the end of the resort)...

As for fireworks from MK you will not be able to see them from the Villas and it is very limited from the Lodge itself. Because they want it to be "Wilderness" there are a lot of trees and the resort is set back and angled so you get that away from everything feeling. You can see some of the fireworks from the Lodge parking lot, but that is about it. You can however see the Electric Water pageant from the lake every night :)

See if you can get "Dumpster View" ;)

This just brought a HUGE smile to my face... :rotfl2: I was a room assigner at VWL... I would say about 5 months or so after the Villas opened (once the word got out)... We actually had a reservation come through from Vacation Club Member Services that stated "Request Dumpster View"... It was very funny for the room assigners as we were not sure if it was for real or just a joke. We printed it out, blew it up real big and hung it up for everyone to see. We even faxed it to some of the other resorts just so they to could share in the humor. The guest that ended up checking into that reservation was really fun and left us all laughing.

Has anyone stayed in one of the rooms that have a balcony sort of sticking out of the roof on the top floor?
Are they dark? We had a dormer room at GF once and it was very dark in the room.

Thanks,

In my opinion the rooms on the top floor at VWL are really cool because they tend to have a really high vaulted ceiling. Yes the balconies are solid, but the rooms inside are neat because of the vault. I don't recall ever thinking they were dark, although because of the decor at both WL and VWL the rooms are darker than most other hotels naturally.

I vote for the dumpster view at VWL LOL no just kidding although I have had that view. I would vote pool view or woods view.

I had a studio (#4561) at VWL last June, almost at the end of the hall facing the woods. I was pleasantly surprised that by standing and looking towards the MK we could see a good bit of the Wishes fireworks from our balcony - worth videotaping!

I am sorry but this is WDW, (as of yet to we have yet to sit on our balcony) it is just a plus to enjoy while we are getting showers, etc. We enjoy whatever we came down there to enjoy and don't put much stock in a balcony view). We come down there expecting to do whatever makes us happy and eveything else is gravy. You need to deside what makes YOU happy and PLAN for that! After that you will have a good trip.

Had one of those room two weeks ago. Loved it. We will request it again next time we stay there. The ceiling in the master is vaulted. It made it seem larger.

I just got back and if you have a woods view you can see "Wishes" from the balcony! It was beautiful as is the electric pageant from the room. Unfortunately what you ask for means nothing as per a post I made on the DVC board. It took some doing to get a decent room.

Hey LakeAriel...I'm making a joke here re the post you referred to: maybe she should request a view of her balcony! :rotfl2:

I think I must have a really weird sense of humor today...or maybe I am thinking about J.Depp and 'with the small brain' :rotfl:

Gotta go get myself a life!
