Which version of Photoshop for digital Scrapbooking do you use?

I had and am use to using Version 5 on old computer, but i need to buy a new one for my new computer. I can get a version 7 for alot cheaper the the latest version 8. How different is it between 7 & 8

Also, is there a big difference between version5, or am i going to have to relearn the newer version

I think you'd find that while there are a lot of new things added to 7 (and 8) compared to 5, the basics of how you'd scrap with them wouldn't really change. So you can start learning with v5 and much of what you'd do in that would still be similar if not unchanged in 7 or 8. I personally tended to skip a version when I was upgrading because, feature-wise, they didn't add enough in each version to make it worth my time to upgrade *every* time. Nowadays they seem to release a new version of PSE every year. While I don't scrap much with PSE anymore (I have full Photoshop now), I started with 4 and then got 6. So I'd be upgrading to 8 if I were still using it.

Also, I'd expect that later this year (fall?) PSE9 will be out and then you'd be 2 versions behind it if you buy 7. Having no idea as to what is in PSE9, I really couldn't say whether you'd feel the need to upgrade again soon or not. I would think that having v8 would mean you'd be less likely to want or need to do so, though.
