Which Values and Moderates have been recently refurbed?

Looking to do a split stay and may consider a value or moderate for the first half. (We are all set for the 2nd half of our stay at a deluxe.) Without having to read each FAQ threads for each resort, can anyone tell me which resorts have had recent refurbs? In other words, we're hoping to catch a resort with a fresh refurb rather than one in need of a refurb. Thanks!

I'm not sure from your post if you are asking about a room refurb or a food court/main lobby refurb? Re Values: AS Music had a food court/lobby refurb last Jan/Feb . . . I know because I landed in the middle of it. POP's cafeteria has had a menu refresh in the past few weeks. I believe all of the bedding at all of the Values was redone approx 1 yr ago with comforters replaced by more modern "sandwich" sheets (blanket tucked in the middle of top sheets) with the decorative runner at the foot of the bed. The bedding switch was met with mixed reviews. Some positive (cleaner and more modern) vs not as warm (I'm included in this group and now pack warmer jammies - eg flannel pj bottoms - if staying from the Fall through Spring. I'm Canadian and the cold doesn't bother me much so fair to say that the new bedding provides very little warmth). Re Moderates: CBR had a major room refurb within the past year and the reviews are generally glowing/very positive. Your best bet for up to date info & some room pics for both Values and Moderates: check out the specific threads for the resorts you are most interested in. You'll find them under Disney Resorts on the DIS Boards. My personal choice for each category? Re Values: POP Century. This Fall marks my 4rth or 5th return? I'll have to look at my own signature below to figure it out. :-) I love it for ease of transportation (bus only but well organized), decent price and proximity to better cafeteria at Art of Animation. Just a quick walk over the bridge to AoA. I spend most of my time in the parks or at Downtown Disney so rarely enjoy the amenities at a mod or deluxe. It would be a waste of money for me & how I enjoy my WDW vacation. When I first started to visit WDW, I only considered moderates and viewed value resorts as just a mass of screaming children that I couldn't deal with. Over the years, I learned that, because it is WDW, there can be screaming children everywhere and that the children at the values are just as well behaved (and usually much better behaved) than their peers at the moderates or deluxe resorts. Re Moderates: French Quarter or its sister resort Riverside. I have stayed at Riverside and thought it incredible. However, its price point has exploded over the past 10 yrs since I first visited and so is no longer a good value for me. My choice of mods is driven by ease of transportation to the parks. I also love the boat transportation from French Quarter/Riverside to Downtown Disney. Cheers!

Thanks, great info! I guess I'm looking for mainly room refurb. Every resort goes through phases of needing refurb, which is understandable, but I was hoping to catch a newly refurbed one so it could leave a positive impression on my DH and kids. Sounds like the majority are all in pretty good shape, so I'd be safe booking most anything. Thanks again!
