I'd love to stay at a moderate, but the budget dictates a value resort.

Which value resort would be the best for two adults, no kids?? Also, should we put in any preferences re location, etc.

Thanks for your advice.

I'll put in a vote for ASMu. Less kids than at Movies and it's nicely themed. But if you're concerned with being near the food court and buses, ask for a room in Calypso or Jazz. And avoid Country Fair at ALL costs - it's a long hike. ;)

I prefer the All Star resorts.
All Star Music usually has less children there.
.
Here is a site with a map of All Star Sports and All Star Music.

Scroll down. All Star Music is at the bottom of the page.
The Calypso buildings at All Star Music are #1 and #10 are nearest to the food court and bus stop.
They are the preferred buildings and cost about $12 extra per night.
The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck.

Here is the map of All Movies.

The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings.
The All Star Movie Fantasia pool has Mickey.

The buses are wonderful.
Bus rides are shorter from ALL Stars than POP according to PassPorter.com

bus ride times :
All Stars Buses ---------Pop buses---------WL buses------Contemorary buses
20 min MK ----------- 25 min MK -----------8 min (boat)MK-----20 min (monorail)
10 min Epcot --------20 min Epcot--------10 min Epcot-------15 min (monorail)
10 min MGM -------- 15 min MGM--------15 min MGM--------20 min
10 min AK ------------15 min AK-----------15 min AK------------20 min
15 min DTD --------- - 20 min DTD---------25 min DTD---------35 min

It takes about 20 min.to get to MK but, Epcot,MGM,and AK are only 10 min.away which is one the of the reasons I  love the All Star Resorts --they can't be beat. I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. :cloud9: I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy :flower: I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit. I can hardly wait. :hourglass

I'd go with POP. The 60's is the preferred section, but alot of the rooms in the 50's and 70's are as close or closer than rooms in the 60's. I was there solo in May and had a corner room on the third floor in the 50's right next to the bowling pin stairwell. It was great. I was only 2-3 minutes from the food court if I used the stairs, but because people with strollers had to go all the way down to the elevators I never heard anyone even walk past my room. From right outside my doorway I could see both the 50's bowling pin pool and the 60's Hippy dippy pool, but was far enough away from both that I never heard any pool noise. Also POP doesn't share buses like the All Stars do. POP also has the lake with the Generation Gap bridge that is pleasant for strolls. From some of the higher rooms facing the lake you can see parts of Illuminations.
