We are 3 moms & 3 teenage daughters visiting the world for 2 nights and 3 days in February 2008. We will be hopping down to WDW from Atlanta immediately after a Cheerleading Competition . Each mom & daughter will have their own room. We will not be spending much time at all at the resort. Hoping to be in the parks the whole time. We want good pools, close to the parks & especially close to Downtown Disney. Which resort would be best for us? Are the All-Stars and Pop Century all the same price per night?
Since we will only be there for 2 full days, we want the shortest resort bus rides as possible. We are not going to the AK or Epcot, probably only MK, MGM & DTD.

Thanks!

Well, since you are looking for close proximity to DTD and a great pool, I'd suggest you spend a few extra dollars a night and stay at POFQ. It's only a boat ride to DTD and they have got an awesome pool.

That's a good point, but if it is definitely a Value, I'd go with Pop. It's my favorite Value. Loved it!

Good luck at the competition - I assume you will be at the CheerSport Competion which was quite an experience.!! (As a former cheerleader mom I know that it is very stressful on you...both my girls are grown now ) POP is very close to MGM and is my favorite of the value resorts......the other value resorts are a long way from DTD....In February you should not have a problem with the parks being crowded.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I would suggest POP too. We just stayed there in June. ASMo is my favorite of the All-Stars but I think the POP bus service is faster considering the All-Star resorts share busses.

We'll be at Cheersport in Feb. also. What gym are you from?

We are in Orlando in March for COA and planning a couple day trip then.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think we will go with Pop Century. I'm thinking middle of February may be "ify" with the weather and using the pools. Anyone know if the pools are heated?

cheerforchelsea & ~Stepharia Yes, we are going to Cheersport. This is my daughter's last year....shes a senior in HS (kinda happy/kinda sad). My group of moms aren't real "cheermoms", but when you are at those competitions, they kinda take you over:banana: Our gym is the Comet All-Stars. This will be their 3rd year going. We do pretty well at Cheersport, not great.....but good. The cheerleaders love it!

thanks again!

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars and Pop & other resorts according to PassPorter.com
