We are driving from NJ and plan on taking 2 days. We are staying overnight in South Carolina and then arriving in Orlando in mid afternoon the next day. We are staying at the Contemporary because we love being able to walk to MK but did not want to pay all that money for that first night when we are getting there so late and will most likely be tired from the long drive. We had planned on staying somewhere off site and then just heading to DTD if we're up for it to just hang out and shop. We just want a room to sleep in for the night. Maybe go a for a swim if we're not too tired from 2 days of driving. We plan on getting to MK for rope drop or pretty close to it for our first official day so we just want to get a good night's sleep.

Dh was planning on spending around 70. Well, we can get a room at All Star Sports or Music for just under $100 with the current room only offer. So we figured we might as well spend the extra couple bucks and stay there. This way we can just take the bus to DTD.

Which one would you pick? I'm leaning towards Sports since I think my kids would get a kick out of all the balls.

would go with music - you might get a slightly quieter room at music.

all the all stars resort are close together - so you can walk around all of them - if you want too.

Just another thought....

I thought of doing this - our flight get's in at 7:30pm. However we need to get to MK for and 8am reservation the next day. I just figure it will be an EARLY morning to get there - so when do we move rooms?

Got to MK until midday and then go back to the value to change rooms? Check out at 7am and have them store our luggage (still have to change rooms).

I guess driving it's not as much of an issue - but for the extra time and hassle involved I would just stay the extra night. (We were thinking movies to POR so the cost difference was offset by the hassle)

I would throw out there to just check into the CR and be done. Check in isnt until mid afternoon anyways, so the next day you will have to wait. I personally like the idea of checking in and getting unpacked and being done. If you do this the first day, while tired, it will be done and you can awaken fresh the next morning and let vacation begin!

You have little ones who may need a mid-day break, and you will not have a room if you stay somewhere else the first night. Especially going at rope drop, it would be nice to have a room for mid-day break.

We have stayed at movies and music and kids loved movies but we have toy story lovers in this house. I would not pay that much either for a late night go with which one your kids would like best not real difference other then themeing
