I am going to Disney World June 9th-12th with my family (15 total, 9 adults and 5 kids). We want to stay at a valu, but I am not sure which one would be best.

Thanks,
Kim

I prefer Pop because of the theming, because it's brand new, and because, most importantly, they don't share bus service with any of the other resorts!!

I have to go with Pop also. We use to only stay in deluxes until my DW showed me the price of a room with AP. We tried Pop last year and are going back in two weeks. Not that I'm counting or anything. :firefight

I have stayed at All Star Music and Pop Century, and I prefer Pop Century. I really enjoyed the theme—it was so interesting looking at the huge shadow boxes in the lobby with memorabilia from each decade. I also like that Pop has its own bus service (the All Star resorts share bus service). There are also a few very minor things that I liked about Pop more than ASMu like the curtains on an overlapping track to help keep light out and no soap dispensers in the shower. Honestly, they are all great though. I would just pick the one with the theme that most appeals to you.

Having only stayed at Music & Movies, I would give a slight nod to Music for a more sedate crowd. IMO Movies' food court was of better quality. I don't think I'd want to stay at Sports unless I was a 20-something on Spring Break. CRO indicated that the sports teams frequent that Resort.

You can't beat the price for on-site accommodations and the bus service was very good.

Have a good time.

We also prefer Pop it's new, clean , fun and transportation is great. There is no bus sharing with other resorts. :wave2:

Stayed @ Movies 2 wks Dec 01.
Loved it till the cheerleaders showed up.
We now stay @ either POFQ or PORS.

:earsboy: Thanks for all the suggestions. I think we are going to try for the POP.

One more question. My sister is concerned about security since the POP and other values are outside corridor rooms.

Do they have security guards, and do you have to go througha gate or anything to get into the resort?

Thanks!!!!

I don't think I've ever seen security guards roaming around, but they do have a guard shack that you have to pass through in order to get into the Pop Century grounds. Disney is generally fairly safe, much more so than other "cities" it's size. All rooms have safes as well. They're tiny, but are big enough to store cash, credit cards, passports, etc in. Your sister has nothing to worry about!!

Oh, and we'll be there the same time. Our trip is from June 7 to 13!!!!

I will tell her what you said. I would have been worried at another hotel, but I felt safer at Disney. My Dh was pretty sure they had decent security provisions.

So are you staying at teh POP too? That is neat we will be there at the same time.

Thanks again,
Kim

I love the Pop - however I think the adults in your group will enjoy it more than the kids - some of the stuff at the pop is definited designed for an older group than the AS mo...

if you can take an afternoon and walk around the place - you might be surprise at how many memories this resort has.

I would make sure to ask for at least a few connecting rooms and to have all of you in the same area. Have fun!!!

The kids will love it and the adults will love it too!! POP is great for both children and adults.

We stayed at the AS Movies for our most recent trip and liked it alot. The food court was good, and we loved the themes. I never stayed at another value, my parents stayed a night at the Pop last summer and thought it was ok. I think AS Movies is more "Disney", but that's just my opinion. It's just a hotel room though...

I think that my toddler would love the fountain kiddie area! It looks adorable. I love the grounds and the choice of pools!

I thought the same thing about my daughter plus my neice and nephew. Even my boys will probably think it is fun.

We now how a reservation for the POP for 4 rooms (3 non-smoking, and 1 smoking). My sister and I have requested adjoining rooms.

So my next question is - which building would you recommend for standard view rooms? Is there anyone, that is better than the other? Does each building offer both smoking and non-smoking rooms?

Thanks,
Kim
