We are looking to do an 11 day trip in 2013. Yes I know this seems early for planning but I am a compulsive planner and nothing makes me happier than planning my next trip to the world! :goodvibes

Because we are planning to stay for so long, we want to try to rent DVC points from David. I'm trying to figure out which DVC to try to get a spot at.

I'd love some advice from those who have stayed at the DVC's. We are planning for August 2013 and usually get to the parks at rope drop and then come back to the resort from 12:30-4 and hang at the pool. So for us, pool is probably a key factor. I know SAB at the BC/YC is THE pool. But what about pools at the other DVC's?

Any feedback is much appreciated!
TIA,
Georgia

Animal Kingdom Villas has a nice new pool and water playground at Kidani. Most DVC main pools are huge and themed.

BCV is a great choice because of their pool and its proximity to Epcot.

We always stay at BWV and love it. If you book 11 months in advance you can get a standard view room which can save a significant amount of money. We love the Boardwalk because of the location(walk to EPCOT and DHS) and the Energy of the Boardwalk especially in the evenings. We always rent points through an individual to get a cheaper rate. We have been doing this for about 8 years without any problems. We would also stay on BCV because of location(but have never actually stayed there). We would not stay anywhere else.

We stayed at the BCV and BWV in May and loved the pools at both. But I have to say the SAB is the pool and we definitely plan on going back in 2013. Glad they strictly enforce the armbands so it doesn't get overly crowded.

OKW and SSR are also great options.

OKW has a very nice pool with a great slide. The pool is also near the food/giftshop/boat/ect.

SSR is also great. They have many pools. The two best pools are the Paddock Pool and the Springs pool. They both have awesome slides. The Paddock Pool is new and has a place to get breakfast/lunch. They also have a great water play area for the kids. The Springs pool is the MAIN pool at SSR. It has a cute Donald water feature and of course a great slide. (Slides are very important to me when we stay at any resort lol).

The theming of each is also very relaxed and a lot of fun. And like you said in your OP Beach club is just wonderful also!!! Like you said its THE pool!!! :)

Enjoy your 2013 trip wherever you stay!! pixiedust:

Same here! :cool1:

We've stayed at OKW, BLT, BWV, BCV, and WL.

OKW - nice and big villas, but the resort is very spread out. There are different pools spread out over the resort, but the main pool can be far away from a lot of the villas. And it's not very impressive, but it does have a slide and a little sand area for the kids to play in.

BLT - our favorite for design and location. The pool here is nice in that it has a slide, zero entry and a splash pad, which my 13 month old LOVED! The villas are the smallest on property, but the fact that you can walk to MK in 10 min more then makes up for that. We're staying here again in January.

BWV - Also staying here in January with a split stay. The rooms are a good size, and the boardwalk is a plus for us. I love going down there in the evenings. The walk to Epcot is a short one, with HS being a little further away. The boats are the way to go for us. The pool has a slide, but it's a little creepy with the clown there...

BCV - just stayed there for the first time last January, and I wasn't impressed with the rooms. The size was fair, but in my opinion, they are in need of a refurbishment. The pool is VERY nice, but unfortunately a good part of it was down for an unexpected refurbishment when we were there.

WL - We've actually stayed at the lodge, and not the villas here, but the lobby is AMAZING!! The pool is very nice too, and the atmosphere is fun. The boat ride to MK was really nice too.

Oh and 2013 is NOT too early, especially with villas. Owners at the villas are able to book 11 months out. We booked our trip in January 2013, back in February of 2012 :goodvibes

We just returned from our first stay at BCV on rented points. We fell in love with the resort. SAB can't be beat, and since you're planning a summer vacation I can't imagine a better place to stay. Besides the pool, we liked the rooms a lot. We didn't find our room to be in need of refurbishment at all. We love the area and the close proximity to Epcot and DHS. Two nights we walked over to the Boardwalk to eat and to enjoy the entertainment. DH and I are going to have a hard time staying anywhere else.

If you need a lot of room, check out Old Key West. It has the largest rooms by far and it has 2 queen beds in the second bedroom in all the villas. Many of the others have a queen and a sofa bed in the second bedroom. As someone else stated Old Key West is a little bit of the way, but it is just a boat ride away from Downtown Disney.

We also love Boardwalk villas for the proximity to both Epcot and DHS The 2 bedroom units have one queen and a sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom. At Beachclub they have second bedrooms with both configurations. The pool is really nice- like a mini water park-but some people find it difficult to keep an eye on the kids there.

Never stayed at BLT but you cant beat being on the monorail, especially if MK will be your main destination. The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful and restful. There is a boat to MK and Fort Wilderness. We love the peaceful atmosphere there after a day in the parks.

You have lots of great options. Have a wonderful vacation.

Your only problem with booking 11 nights is that the member can only book seven nights at once. Then they have to wait a day to add one more day and so on. Or they wait until the eighth day and add all three days. If you are booking something hard to get, you might get shut out of the last three days.
