My niece and I are planning to stay at Universal for 2 nights to do the rides and see the Macy's parade. Which hotel is best to stay at as have not been to Universal for about 15 years.

Thanks
Tina

We just got back from RPR on Tuesday and we love, love, loved it :lovestruc It is the cheapest of the 3 but you'd never really notice it! I haven't stayed at HRH or PBH though so I can't really compare it to them. PBH doesn't appeal to me in the slightest but I'd maybe give HRH a go next time.

I could be wrong but I think RPR is actually the closest resort to the parks, although it could be HRH. PBH is the furthest away.

Can't speak for the others, but I think they all look great hotels.

We stayed in Hard Rock Hotel last summer and thought it was a great, fun hotel :)

We've stayed at all three. PBH is definitely our favourite. We weren't massively keen on HRH.

However, our view is influenced by the fact that there's just the two of us these days. DS doesn't come with us anymore. So we liked the more 'grown-up' atmosphere of the PBH.

We went for cheapest but after reading all reviews didn't like sound of HRH so it was a choice of the other 2. When we booked there was only about $20/night difference between RPR and PBH and last time I checked it was cheaper at PBH so just look at the hotels and see which you like look of.

TBH I think you should go with what one appeals to you most. :)

I have stayed at both HRH & PBR, I will be staying at RPR in January. The two i've stayed in were both lovely & very different, one more modern & lively & the other more relaxed & peaceful.

I have been staying at RPR for 5 years now, have did 2 split stays with PBH as well, HRH is just not our scene, although DD might like it.
PBH was more for adults [IMHO] and not much happening for DD, while RPR is always something going on that she can join in.
If no kids i would go for PBH everytime, although still love RPR themeing.
While RPR is usually cheaper ,its still first class, and like Wayneg said PBH can be cheaper, as it was for us last July, you just need to keep checking

we've only stayed at PBH (concierge level)...
we weren't at all impressed by the service that one would expect for concierge.....definitely wasn't worth the extra money...and we found PBH to be a bit too far from the parks....i think it may be the furthest of the 3....

haven't stayed at the other two, but since it's only for a short stay and basically just to get front of the line, if i were to go again, i would stay at the cheapest of the 3.. (in other words, wherever i could get the best deal)..

from the pictures and videos i've seen, the RPR looks beautiful...if that one's the least expensive, all the better...

DD loves Hard Rock, great place if you like music. Having said that i have been thinking about trying one of th epother two this year but currently have HRH booked

We've stayed at all three (twice at PBH, twice at HRH and three times at RPR). All three are very nice hotels, but as the cheapest of the three* and having been recently refurbished, we've come to the conclusion that RPR represents the best value for money. It could be argued that PBH is a better class of hotel than the other two, but it's a bit too far out. It's certainly walkable, but a bit of a trek from the parks and CityWalk. When the weather's bad, your only option is the bus because it's too far to walk in the rain and the boat service doesn't run during thunder storms. There's really not much to choose between the other two (other than price). It depends whether you prefer "hip and cool" or "laid back island vibe".

* From some of the comments here, it seems that's no longer always true, but for years it was the case.

Having looked at photos RPR appeals the most to me, as other posters have said there's very little price difference so just go with whatever appeals, or whatever has a good deal etc. :)

I've stayed at RPR and HRH. I preferred RPR as the theming appealed to me more, but I think all three hotels are a pretty safe bet. As others have said, just go for the one you most like the look of!
