My dh has a coworker who has just booked a last minute trip to WDW for next week :scared1: They are doing the dining plan and I was wondering which restaurants they might have luck at for their TS meals :confused3 I know Beaches and Cream...what else?

Tell her to go see the conceirge desk at her resort, they will hook her up. We were there last week and changed our ADRs around a few times, there are always things very early and very late.

Big River Grill doesnt take ADR's, walk up only.

When we were in Epcot there was a lot of people going up to the World Showcase right at 5 and getting in without a hassle.

Maybe a less popular restaurant at a resort?

Big River Grille is good, we've eaten there without an ADR.

Really though, if they paid for the dining plan, they probably need to make some ADRs to make sure they get all their ts meals! I hope they have a great trip, ours is so far away and I'm jealous of anyone going soon!

We've usually been able to get into the Plaza Restaurant at MK without an ADR- and we go in busy June! That said, it's not guaranteed, but it might easier than some of the other places, and I highly recommend it- great food & atmosphere. They can also call from their hotel room & might get lucky. We've walked up to Plaza & can usually get a table within the hour, so we'll hang around Main Street & do some shopping to kill time. Good luck! :thumbsup2

We've had luck getting in at Restaraunt Marrakesh on short/no notice. But I would second the suggestion to stop in at the concierge desk to get some help lining up ADR's so they don't get stuck eating only CS. :)

Is ESPN on the dining plan? They may enjoy that because they have a teen boy.

We lucked out at Prime Time Cafe at MGM. We walked up and the guy in front of us was mad because he couldn't get in right away. After he walked away in a huff, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask if there was anything possibly open later and the answer was yes. Either he didn't want to wait or never asked about later times because he was mad he couldn't get in immediately. We got our ADR then and were back sitting and eating an hour later.

Guest Services at the park you are at will help to make ADR's too. If you are flexible they can usually find you something.

If they plan on going to DTD, they might try Planet Hollywood. Their wait for walk-ups is usually 5 minutes or less. It's a big restaurant since they have 3 floors. It's on the Dining Plan and we love their ribs and cheesecake, plus they have interesting decor with all the movie memorabilia. Their menu is much wider and more diverse than most WDW restaurants. Even during Free Dining last September, we were able to walk up and be seated right away.

We have always had good luck at:
Marrakesh,Coral Reef (it's just us[2 adults], so we can generally avoid the crowds and slip in),San Angel,Wolfgang Puck's,Cap'n Jacks,Yak &Yeti (granted we only lucked into this the 1 time),Hollywood&Vine,Prime Time and Brown Derby.

You can check availability with the concierge in your property and they can make res. for you.
But if you find yourself in the park(s) check with the booth at the Studios,Town Hall in MK and Guest Services at EPCOT and AK.
HTH

try calling the grand floridian cafe for lunch or dinner - good chance you'll find an available seating and you'll be surprised how good the food is there!

We got a walk in at Tony's in MK last June. However, we had an outside table, and it was very hot.

Thanks for all the great replies...I've given a list of these ideas (along with the list of snacks available on DDP) to my dh to give to his coworker. I have a feeling she may think I'm a little (okay a lot) obsessed :lmao:

Must go finish packing we leave in 27 hours for our ADR filled trip...waahoo!

Good one. It's surprising no one ever mentions that!
