Which TS restaurants will give me trouble...

My 10 year old does NOT eat like an adult. He just wants a plate of Chicken Nuggets or a burger and fries.

We are on the DDP (1TS, 1CS, 1 snack) and since I've paid for his meals as an adult, I want to maximize our credits. By this I mean I want to order a kids meal for him at TS restaurants and pay for it OOP. Then we'll use his credits later on.

So, which TS restaurants are being grouchy about letting a 10 year old order a kids' meal? Which TS are going to roll their eyes at me when I ask to use 3 adult credits for me, DS, and older son and then ask to pay OOP for the 10 year old? I imagine the servers hate people like me.

Thanks!

I do not know why you are going into this thinking servers will hate you for this request - they get this all the time. Disney is well aware that people on the dining plan often eat with people who are not on the plan, and you can split the check between DDP and cash orders whenever you wish. Just make sure you tell the server when you order that you are splitting the check (rather than waiting until time to pay for the meal) so they can ring the orders up properly.

Sorry if I'm anticipating CM's attitude. We had a server at Raglan Road who wasn't happy with us one year when we asked to pay OOP for one of our meals and use DDP for the others. Seemed like a big deal to her. Of course, she didn't do what we requested, so we had to wait til she fixed it. We explained it to her at the time we ordered, but perhaps she forgot when it came time to print our "bill."

I'm just trying to make things as smooth as possible...for us and for the CM's.

I would think you shouldn't have any issues. It is to bad that the one experience happened, but I think that is in isolated incident and not the norm.

I wouldn't let it worry me to much, we have found the servers to willing to split things and not had a problem.

We have done this two trips in a row and plan to do it again in December. You should have no problems. I hope Raglan Road was an anomoly, although we didn't find the service very good when we ate there. The waiter was a little surly and took our KTTW cards and kept them, gave us the impression that he thought we would do a runner or something. We had a ten-year old at the time and this had never been required before at any other of the restaurants we had dined in...we've never been back even though we really enjoyed the food. I wouldn't even suggest it to DH...we were both a little more than offended by the waiter's behaviour.

Your question isn't really "what restaurants will give me trouble" but "which servers will give me trouble" as there is no resort-wide policy that says you can't do what you are seeking to do. There's no way to predict what kind of server you will get. If a server gives you problems, ask to see a manager.
