We will be doing the DDP for the first time this summer. We usually do a few table service meals but I am struggling to find somehere to eat for all 14 days. We will need to make our ADRs soon and I would be very grateful for your recommendations for the best vegetarian dining - no meat or fish but will eat eggs and dairy products. We will definitely be doing Boma and probably Sanaa. Would also like to do Chefs de France especially to see Remy :) what are the vegetarian dishes like there?

Thanks :)

My bf is vegetarian and he loved Boma (tell the chef there of your dietary requirements and he'll walk you through the buffet and may even make you something special ;)) and Coral Reef for dinner, we're eating at both this trip. He also enjoyed California Grill (they were very accomodating, bf wasn't keen on the veggie main they had so they did him a larger portion of one of the appetisers and this was on the dining plan) To be honest he didn't have a problem eating anywhere at WDW as there was a vegetarian option at all the TS places we did but obviously some were better than others.

My husband was very excited by the veg options on the menu at Crystal Palace in the MK (although ultimately we decided to skip it because we wanted to see the "classic" characters rather than Pooh & friends).

Have you thought about doing breakfasts? There are a lot of great veg options at breakfasts. Although if you're paying for the DDP that might not be the best use of your points.

I'd look at the menus on www.wdwinfo.com (host site, I think) and/or www.allears.net (it's a toss-up which will have the most current menu for any one place). I've yet to come across a TS restaurant that didn't have at least one veg option that looked absolutely amazing, except that there was one where the veg option was mushroom ravioli with a sauce of two different types of mushrooms (I can do mushroom ravioli, but not with all the other mushrooms as well!). The ones that come to mind are the eggplant dish at Mamma Melrose's, mushroom ravioli at Le Cellier, stuffed pepper at 50s Prime Time Café. I've heard great reviews of the mac'n'cheese at Chefs but I think they also have other veg options.

Also, not on the DDP, but Rainforest Cafe has an amazing veggie burger that I miss dearly now that I no longer live near one.

There are vegan/veg reviews posted by a user named (I think) v_gan.

Thanks Lizzybear and TillyMarigold :)

The ones that I will definitely make an ADR for are
Boma - I love this place, lots of dishes here
Sci-fi - I really like the tofu dish here
Rose & Crown - love the vegetable curry
Tusker House - the buffet sounds wonderful
Beaches & Cream - not great value on DDP but we love it
Chefs de France - nice veggie options and I get to see Remy

Can anybody recommend vegetarian dishes at the following restaurants
Coral Reef
Raglan Road
Wolfgang Puck Cafe
Tony's Town Square
Le Cellier
Mama Melrose
Tutto Italia

Does anybody have a particular favourite restaurant that I have not mentioned above?

Thanks Tracy

Hi. I am also vegetarian and have never had problems eating at the World.
Raglan Road is one of our favorites but honestly I normally just get the tomato & gin soup and than I get the homemade chips (fries), so I'm not really much help on a meal here. I just love the chips & beer there :)
I've never been to Coral Reef, Tonys, or LeCellier. Wolfgang Puck I always get the Margherita pizza and love it. And Tuto we did last trip and loved it. I got the Sacchetti dish & it was fantastic!!!
I did read on here that you can just tell most places you are vegetarian and they may offer up some other options for you. I have not done this yet.
We did Boma for breakfast last trip and I loved it and was stuffed. They had really great fruit and danish options.
Enjoy your trip!!! :)

Le Cellier- I had good luck with the chef, but it is a steakhouse so if your entire party is veggie I wouldn't reccomend it. There is one veggie entree and a couple of appetizers and they'll work with you, but it is mainly a steakhouse. There are plenty of good veggie options in the area, so I wouldn't pick it first.

Tony's- It's typical italian in my experience. It's good, you can pasta, salad, etc. I have a wheat allergy and am veggie and they made me special pasta with a vegetarian red sauce. I'm just not into Italian, but there are plenty of options and easily modified options.

I've had flatbread pizza at Mama Melrose 2 or 3 times, and thought it was yummy! I also recommend their breads and spreads (it doesn't come with the meal, you have to order it separately)--delicious and well worth the nominal price. I also have had a side of roasted red pepper polenta which is not normally offered as a side (except with the steak) but which the server offered when I told him I'm vegetarian. :goodvibes

Chefs de France--ate there the day before yesterday and had the baked macaroni and cheese--it's tasty, if a little bland. Chefs also has a vegetarian lasagne that's pretty good but not nearly as good as the lasagne DH and I make ;), so I've only ordered it once or twice.

Tuttos--we ate there earlier this year and I had the Cannelloni al Forno, which was good. I'd have it again. I wanted the Tagliatelle alla Primavera, but they'd run out of it at lunch.

If you are looking for any counter service options, Morocco in Epcot now has a hot felafel wrap that's very tasty.

Re: the veggie burger at Rainforest Cafe, the last time I checked their menu (earlier this year), the veggie burger was no longer on it! I was very disappointed and DH and I ended up not eating there because there was no decent veggie offering (I get tired of pizza and I dislike mushrooms--I think they had a portobello sandwich if I remember correctly).

Wolfgang Puck Express--the four cheese macaroni is the best mac-and-cheese I've ever eaten!! Ohhhhh! It is, of course, a heart attack on a plate, so I wouldn't eat it too often, but it was WONDERFUL!

We ate lunch at Tusker House yesterday and I was amazed at the sheer volume of vegetarian selections. The menu they show you out front only lists a little of what is actually offered. DH, who is not vegetarian, really liked the meat selections and he is VERY picky (he didn't like his meals at Chefs de France or at San Angel Inn on this trip).

I don't have much time now but I saw your post and wanted to respond quickly I'll try to post more when I have time. I've beeen a vegetarian for 16 yrs now and have done the DDP four times for over 10days so I have eaten at most TS locations in WDW. When I make my ressie I also have them add that I am a vegetarian and have gotten calls from several chefs at some of the TS locations asking my restrictions and what they can make me. I'm also a very picky eater and not huge on alot of veggies!

My favorite places to eat are at the character buffets. This works out great for me because there are so many dishes that if I try something I don't like I can go up and get something eles and there is a huge variety.(plus my kids were 2 and 5 when we started doing the DDP so they also enjoy them) I have eaten at a few TS meals that the entrees are not very good and I'm not one to send them back or ask for something eles so I end up leaving hungry(Le Cellier comes to mind). I'll start listing some of the places I have/have not liked. Also keep in mind that I'm very picky and you may like some of the meals I didn't care for.

Thanks very much, look forward to hearing your recommendations. :)

I'll start with the MK TS locations:

Liberty tree tavern dinner= Most do for every trip(I'm a little disappointed that they did away with the mickey characters:sad2:) even though they don't list a veggie meal on there dinner menue they have one on their lunch that they serve you plus the rest of your family at the table gets the family meal patters served so you still get to eat from those witch includes: bread, salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, herb bread stuffing, and Stouffer's Macaroni and Cheese(to me I can make a meal with just those sides;)
They change there menue ofen so I have had there amber waives of grain meal and there pesto pasta with grilled tofu. The tofu was disgusting but the pesto pasta was amazing. It looks like they have a new veggie meal that I will trying on our August trip.
Vegetarian Pot Pie - basil biscuit, bean ragout, sun-dried tomato pistou, and seasonal vegetables.
Sounds yummy to me:goodvibes

Tony Town Square: I had Spaghetti - with choice of Meatballs or Sweet Italian Sausage in Tony's own Marinara sauce. I gave the meatballs to my DD's(ask for them on the side) It was just ok pasta nothing to special but their Tiramisu - espresso soaked lady fingers, whipped mascarpone and dark chocolate shavings dessert was worth the meal in its self. They also have a new past dish that I wouldn't mind trying that sounds good its Spinach and Ricotta Gnocchi Primavera - Seasonal Vegetables tossed with Garlic Oil and topped with Balsamic Glaze and Feta cheese(I would get it without the feta)

Crystal palace buffet:Has so much to offer in terms of veg. dishes that its hard to not find something that is yummy Plus you can controll how much you get of each dish. plus there are a ton of desserts to choose from!

Cinderellas royal table- Pasta al Pomodoro - Pasta tossed in fresh tomato sauce with garden vegetables. We ate here for our girls to get the expierence the food to me was less then steller for two TS credits.

Plaza restaurant: I haven't eaten here because I personally don't think its work it to use a TS credit on a 12$ sandwhich: But the sandwich does sound good.
Vegetarian Sandwich - fresh mozzarella, hummus, basil pesto, cucumber, roasted red pepper, tomato, and lettuce on a freshly baked foccaccia bread served with broccoli slaw or sweet potato chips.

I hope this isn't to much info;)

You've been really helpful, thanks so much :) I have done most of the CS locations so should be fine with those thanks. I have never done Liberty Tree Tavern so will definitely give that a go. We may go back to Crystal Palace as we loved it last time although my DS 18 might not be so keen :lmao: Thanks again
