I'm traveling solo so am thinking of adding a tour- either Caring for Giants or Behind the Seeds. Have you taken one of these tours? What did you think? If you had to choose one, which would it be?

Hi! I've done both a couple of times and enjoy them both differently. The Behind the Seeds tour seems to be more tiring, I'm not sure if it's more walking or more standing or both. The Caring for Giants tour is always fun and I think only an hour. If I had to pick one, I would pick Caring for Giants.

We have done both and enjoyed them both. It really depends more on your interests you as for us, we liked them equally and would do either again.

We've done Caring for Giants. I thought it was well worth the money. I love elephants! We got to see Stella when she was just a baby. It was awesome.

We've done both though it was a few years ago. Of the two we liked Caring for giants the best. While you don't get close interaction with the elephants there is plenty of time backstage to see them closer than you do on the Safari. And have the opportunity to interact with one of the handlers. And during our tour there was a cultural representative from South Africa. It was very interesting to talk with her. You also get an interesting view of backstage operations during the trip to the viewing area. Our tour leader was very talkative and had plenty of interesting facts and stories. We'll do the tour again someday.

Here is my report on the tour:

In my opinion Behind the Seeds is most interesting for those who are into gardening or horticulture. And even then the script is pretty basic. They fill in a little more technical information behind the greenhouse operation. Our tour leader was a college intern and while not the most outgoing she was more than willing to take questions. We like Living with the Land and ride it every visit so it was fun to go behind the scenes. But the tour is not on our 'let's do it again' list.

I've done Behind the Seeds 3 times and Caring for Giants once. I like both and they both offer different things. Behind the Seeds is great if you are into gardening at all. It is a little bit of walking and it's hot in there so be forewarned of that.

Caring for Giants is a great way to learn more about elephants and how Disney cares for them at the parks and in the wild. It's super interesting. But the one caveat there is that your views of the elephants are kind of limited by their behavior. They could be on the far side of their enclosure and you won't get an up close view. So don't do that one thinking "I'm gonna be 3 feet away from an elephant."

Honestly, if you're able, I'd do both. They are among the best values tour wise that you're going to find in Disney.

Caring for giants sounds great. Will definitely have to check that out.
