Which to pay for Chef Mickeys, Akershus or 1900 Park Fare?

We have reservations for 12/21-12/26. We have 1 extra reservation than meal plan credits. What restaurant would you pay for? We have 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 12,10,8)

Of the 3, my favorite is Akershus breakfast. The character interaction at 1900 Park Fare is usually great, but I haven't been overly impressed with the food at dinner. I prefer the breakfast over dinner at 1900 PF. Chef Mickey's is my least favorite.

since they are all buffets I would pay out of pocket for whichever is the least expensive. Probably one of the breakfasts

I would pay OOP for the least expensive meal for your four Disney adults and one child. Looking at the prices in the wonderful link below, it looks like you should pay for Chef Mickey breakfast ($42.60 for adults) rather than 1900 PF dinner ($44.73) or Akershus breakfast ($47.93).

It's possible that you might have a meal planned that costs less than any of these three character meals, which tend to be more expensive. For example, I will be on the DDP but have more TS meals planned than we have credits for. So for us it makes sense to pay OOP for Trail's End, which might be the least expensive buffet at WDW, and save a credit for a pricier meal.

2) Akershus breakfast (though it's close to #1--1900 PF breakfast would be the best choice)
