we are deciding between caribbean beach or french quarter. will have own car so transportation is not an issue. french is about $500 more but more concerned which might be more fun. TIA

We have stayed at POR (not FQ) and CBR. We really liked CBR and really enjoyed the pool area. It is a much bigger resort than POFQ, but our kids really enjoyed it there.

Who is in your party? What are their ages? When are you going?

Personally I do not like CBR at all, and I love the size and theme of POFQ
It really is which theme, and size appeal to your party

I'd go with CBR, $500 is nothing to sneeze at and of all the moderates POFQ is my least favorite. It feels to motelly for me.

Both resorts are fun. CBR has more open space and the sand/beach areas. But POFQ has the boats to Disney Springs and the busy waterway, which is interesting.

At Port Orleans you can go to both FQ and Riverside so you get 2 pools, but CBR has a better pool than either of POR/FQ. But even with that, I still think POR/FQ is more fun with the walking between the 2 resorts and I love the look and feel of the Louisiana/French Quarter area. I feel like I am actually in New Orleans at POFQ. I don't really get the caribbean feel from CBR.

We stayed at CBR five years in a row and loved it. We go in the summer so we really enjoyed the quiet smaller pools at each "house" rather than the main pool. We thought the rooms were nice and clean and the food court was pretty good too. Overall a very nice resort and great value. Our fave part about it is the pool though

CBR has a lovely tropical feel to it. We are from Colorado, so it seems like a tropical destination to us. Love the colors and sounds of the resort. It is big, but doesn't feel unmanageable. The main pool is fun and the quiet pools are relaxing. Plus, saving money is always great. Either way, I hope you have a great trip!

POFQ is our families favorite resort, but not at $500 more. I would not have any issues staying at CBR, we enjoy all the Mod resorts.

We have stayed at both. I love the compact design of POFQ, and if you have mobility issues, I would lean that way. Otherwise, I would save the money and go with CBR. Although large, the grounds are gorgeous and we enjoyed strolling around there. Also, besides an amazing main pool, we enjoyed the multiple quiet pools. There refurbished rooms were lovely. I would pay the difference for an upgrade to a deluxe, but not one in the same category. More money for Mickey bars
