Please help ...

Going to WDW May 6 with DH, DS (8), DS (5) & DS (1). We try to go once or twice a year and stay on sight, but this year we have the opportunity to stay in a timeshare (my sister's exchange) for only $300. The only timeshare we have ever stayed in was the Vistana Villages, which we greatly enjoyed. My choices this time are narrowed down to Westgate Lakes, Westgate Towers, Club Sunterra or Marriott Horizons.

Any pros or cons would be greatly appreciated. We have our APs, car rental and plane tickets, but no place to stay so far and it is driving me crazy. I have heard not so good things about Westgate, but want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

Thanks for your help

With the kids I have heard good things about the pool area at Horizons. I would take either Sunterra (is it Cypress Pointe?) or Horizons but probaby Horizons first

My family, including children ages 11, 10, 7, and 6, stayed at Horizons in December 2003. Based on your children's ages, Horizons would be the choice for your family. The pool is every child's dream. My kids are begging to go back--not to Disney--but to Horizons! Everything was very clean and child friendly. We rented someone else's week through Interval International and we were never bothered by sales pitches during our entire stay. Plenty of scheduled activities for the kids too. This was our first experience off-site and it couldn't have been more wonderful.

Another vote for Horizons! I'll be there myself on May 20.
The main pool has a pirate ship with kiddie slides in it. There is also a wet play area that kids will have a blast in. And there is a neat mini-golf course (although I believe there is a fee for the mini-golf.)
There is one building under construction, but with it's location, I don't think it would have any negative effect on your stay.
For an off-site resort, it is very conveniently located (very near SeaWorld).

Do you have to take the tour? I am sitting here with a GREAT offer for the Hyatt timeshare at Old Key West, but I just don't like those tours. LOL!

definitely the Marriott's Horizons.

the Marriotts are far and above those others you listed. Even their tours are better.....

CarolA - tell them you only buy resale - and then mention tug -
www.tug2.net
timeshare users group....

and don't forget to kept saying NO! and don't let them make you feel guility - they know that 8 of 10 people they approach won't buy - don't let them make you feel like you have wasted their time - on the contrary they have waste your time. You told them upfront that you aren't buying. But it is definitely fun to look at the resorts....
