We are thinking of going the Tues after Labor Day weekend....

so Sept 8-13 or Sept 11-16???

we can't decide...help...do you guys think the week of Labor Day would be busier???

thanks for any help....we haven't been to Dland in 2 years...so heres to all the planning...yeah!!:goodvibes

I'm not sure crowds will be all that different. A better question might be, do you want your weekend at the beginning of your stay or at the end?

It's off season, so the longer hours and evening entertainment will probably only be on the weekend. I prefer having my weekend at the end of my stay so that I go out on a late night complete with fireworks, but that's just me!

hmmmm....I have to check out the hours....

we thought it would be weird to check in on a Tues after being off for a 3 day weekend...but trying to avoid traffic on Labor day...

the prices are the same so its really just preference...;)

I like the weekend on the front end of my trip so that (hopefully) most of the crowds will be in the beginning of the trip and it is like a bonus to finish out with lighter crowds. Of course this is only if it isn't a holiday weekend...

I would guess the later choice is better. Nobody will be streching a three day weekend into that week.

I would consider park hours, but they could be the same, that is shorter than summer. Also as they phase in more construction during the off season you may be into the thick of it that second week.

Our 2 trips have been in September. Someone has posted that this year they are beginning the Halloween season early on Sept 17th. Last year, our final park day (Friday and we flew out Sat) was the beginning of the Halloween season. The crowds started getting heavier that Thurs & Friday. By Friday afternoon/evening the crowds & lines were heavier than we experienced our first trip when we were a week earlier and away from the Halloween crowds. I think I would go for your first set of dates because many people will have to be back to school after Labor Day and you won't have to deal with an influx of people (locals too) coming to see the Halloween decor. JMO.

Oh, and as HydroGuy posted, there are trade offs to going in Sept. The hours will be shortened and less performances/entertainments offered. Also, HM and most likely SM will be closed. They get closed down to be transformed into the Halloween version of their rides. There is a good chance something else will be closed for refurb as well.

Hydroguy...thanks your tips are always awesome !!!

to others...yes there is a tradeoff....We have traveled to Dland many times in Oct/Nov/Jan/Summer....just never Sept;) (we were always at Dworld):goodvibes

do you think the Tues-Fri after labor day will have left over people from the 3 day weekend?

Sept 11-16 my just be perfect timing to miss the crowds from holiday and the upcoming halloween crowds.

we don't care about the halloween stuff, did WDW Halloween last year, and we don't mind shorter hours...the price to pay. ;)
