I have an ADR at 50's Prime Time, but I've read some bad reviews, but the ones for Sci-Fi don't look much better. We will be on the Dining Plan, and I'm looked for an evening meal.

Any suggestions?

Forgot to mention - we ate at Mama Melrose's last time, so we were looking for something different. If the others are all terribly bad, I'm not against returning to Mama Melrose's.

There's Brown Derby, but I think it's 2 TS. IMHO, the food is decent, but I wouldn't use 2 credits for that one. Otherwise, you have MM and Hollywood & Vine for the 1 TS. :goodvibes

you will get many differing opinons since peoples tastes differ. you will usually see bad reviews on just about every restaurant but some will have fewer negative reviews than others

IMO i like 50's much better than sci-fi. in fact i avoid sci-fi every chance i get. only go there if i'm outvoted. but then again many people like sci-fi.

i am of the school of thought that you try it and decide for yourself if you will return. otherwise you will be guessing forever.

i love HBD but as PP said it is 2 TS.

I like Sci fi for lunch, and brown derby for dinner.

is the better restaurant, but as mentioned above it is 2TS if you're on the dining plan. 50s Prime Time is a good place. The theming may not be to everyone's liking but it's entertaining to others. I like the atmosphere at Sci Fi. I'm a B movie fan. Just stick with the basics on food.

I would keep your Prime Time ADR

We've enjoyed meals at Mama Melrose, Brown Derby, and 50s Prime Time.

We just had lunch at Sci Fi on Sunday, July 19. I had a delicious oreo milkshake, a cheeseburger, and now I forget what dessert I had. My 16 y/o son had the ribs. I don't know what my wife had because she was in the front seat. My 9 y/o son sat next to me and I can't remember what he had either.

I know my 9 y/o barely touched his dessert because he was stuffed from the shake and kids meal. I was also very full but I did finish all of my dessert. I was even in the clean plate club at the one buffet we went to. And I only gained 3 pounds on our trip.

My 9 y/o loved the movie clips. He thought the titles (Attack of the 50 Ft Woman, Teenagers From Outerspace, etc) were hysterical and he enjoyed the Tom & Jerry cartoon that ran as well. I'm not sure how long we were there but we saw about 8-10 minutes of the film loop repeated.

The atmosphere was a nice change of pace. If you let yourself go you really felt like you were at a drive-in on a nice, cool night. It was a reality check stepping back into the Florida heat afterwards. It was also the quietest meal of our trip. I didn't mind the volume at The Biergarten and Ohana's, but the quiet of Sci Fi was nice. With the movies going on I talked with my son in whispers and barely talked to my wife and 16 y/o.

I would return to Sci Fi again in a second.

Don't switch!!!!! 50's Primetime is a must-do for us when we are in WDW! The food is good and the atmosphere is great. If you get the right server you can have a lot of fun as well as enjoying a yummy meal! I also don't understand the bad reviews for Sci-Fi. It has, IMO, the BEST theme of any WDW restaurant and everyone in our party thought the food was very good! In fact, 50's Primetime and Sci-Fi are 2 of my very favorite restaurants on Disney property!:goodvibes Stick with what you've got - I don't think you'll be disappointed!

We've eaten at 50's Prime Time, Sci-Fi, and Brown Derby.

My family would unanamously and emphatically vote for 50's Prime Time.
