Which stroller for my toddler at WDW?

We're heading down to the World in October and will be bringing our son for his first trip - he'll be 21 months old when we go. I've got a Peg Perego Pliko P3 which is sort of a "deluxe umbrella fold" stroller - you can see how it folds up in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHjjo1aAOpM

It definitely takes 2 hands to fold, but it's relatively compact when it's folded up. I'm trying to decide between bringing that stroller vs renting a Citi Mini from Magic Strollers https://www.magicstrollers.com/order/index.cfm

I like how the Citi Mini really does fold with just one hand. And it looks lightweight and easy to carry when it's folded. And it's about 2lbs lighter than my Peg. But my Peg has a tray on the front where DS can put his cup (I don't think the rental Minis have that) and it's his own stroller so MAYBE we'd have better luck with him napping in it? And if anything happens to it, I paid $50 for it off of Craigslist, so I'm not too worried about that.

Any suggestions?

I don't have any experience with that age, but the CM is a great stroller for WDW. We own one, but we still rented from Kingdom Strollers in March (didn't want ours in the airport/getting beat up on the plane) - and we're renting from Apple Strollers in October.

DD didn't need a tray in March as she wasn't picking anything up, so we didn't miss having one. Personally, I would probably say that the lack of tray wouldn't be a deterrent for me. The incredibly easy fold and light weight were far more useful throughout the trip. Since DD was already familiar with the CM model, she didn't have a difficult time sleeping in it either. Do you know anyone with a CM you could borrow for a day? Maybe take him for a walk during/close to nap time and see if he falls asleep in it? (if you want to test that before going)

I have a *ton* of friends who love their CMs - but they're all online friends! So that won't help me test it out with my buddy lol! I guess I could go to BRU or similar and try and test one out in the store.

I think your stroller is fine. I've never had one, but my sister did. I do have a City Mini.

In some ways, your stroller will be smaller when folded. It's longer, but it's not as wide, which can be useful. The City Mini might be a tiny bit easier to carry, but yours isn't hard to carry.

Is the only thing you're concerned about the folding aspects and carrying it when it's folded? Because if that's it, then I don't think it's a reason to even bother with getting a different stroller. Most of the time, your stroller won't be folded. If it were gigantic and/or heavy when folded, that would be an issue to consider, but it's really perfectly fine.

Ya know, I'm not sure why I'm so concerned... I think it's the unknown of bringing a child for the first time! I keep thinking that the process of getting on a bus might be easier with the CM's true one handed fold, but realistically if we're waiting for a bus I'm sure the boy will either be wanting to be held before we get on or will be passed out and we can take our time folding it as people unload the bus before we get on.

This WDW with a toddler thing is gonna be a whole new experience!

Oh gosh, strollers and Disney....I know how you feel! This was me last year! I would just bring your own rather than renting...bc honestly there are few times that you walk up to a bus stop and don't have to wait. I think it happened maybe 5 times over the past two years for us. Either way you have to fold the stroller to get on the bus so whether it folds with one hand or not I really don't feel like it benefits. Actually, I did so much research before purchasing a new stroller for our Disney trip, I bought a joovy kooper and after buying it I hated it. I would just stick with what you've got. :)

Thanks for posting this! I have one of the 'free' city minis reserved through apple but I keep going back to just bringing our own (maclaren quest). We know how to pack and fold ours and DD is comfortable in it. We are planning to bring it anyways for the airport and DCL portion of our trip, so I may just cancel the City mini. DD is 2 and not really into her stroller anyways, so it will probably be parked a lot of the day. We did order a extended shade cover though, to help keep her out of the sun (I heard the City Minis have great covers)
