So we just requested the 300 loop trying to find a nice area. We're going to be spending a lot of time in the campground itself. I see some sites that seemed nice, open, backing onto dog park area? Which sites are closest to the dock beach area. Is there another way to get to the dock area, looks like from map there is a path in the middle of the loop that might loop around to the dock? Thanks for the info.

There are no bad sites. Just sites that are different from each other. You can walk to the front of the loop and over to the dock. You can walk to the back of the loop and walk the beach/sand to the dock.

stayed there twice, the only ones I try not to get are up front right next to road. You will hear buses not matter where you are at.

OH so it's a noisy loop? I would assume the ones by the road are the beginning numbers. Maybe I'll try for something in the middle close to the dog park and walk? We have 2 small dogs. Some people were saying the spots in 300 are extremely tight but sites seem to vary there.

The first 6-8 sites entering the loop (301-306/8) back up against or across the road from the small water dead end that is adjacent to the play ground and the fenced animal park. Of course the loop circles around and site 361 is the highest number and back near 301. So any of the high numbers up to 361 will put you close to the entrance of the loop.

Lots of folks stay in 300 here and if you are up near the front entrance of the loop, just walk down the sidewalk on the main road to the boat marina (5 minutes). If you are in the back of the loop, there is an access road off the loop that is not paved that runs along the canal in back behind the trees towards Bay Lake. The road turns left along the shoreline of BL and it's a dirt road that comes out next to the Settlement Trading Post. Honestly, the back way is IMO more trouble than it's worth.

I think there is a path in the interior of the loop from the entrance area that connects to the Comfort Station that serves 300.

If you want to see the camp sites google Fort Wilderness Loop 300, there are three videos of the loop. The longest one just under 6 minutes lists the site numbers as they cruise by, if you have a map of the fort and follow along while watching you should be able to find a nice site in the area of the loop you are wanting.
