Thinking about massages while at Disney. Which one is better? Saratoga Springs, Grand Floridian, or Mandara? Any suggestions would be great!

Grand Floridian is closed right now, so that is going to be out if you trip is next week. Mandara is beautiful , Saratoga is nice, but didn't have as relaxing an atmosphere. Of course when I was there there were two kids running around unattended while parents were gettting a treatment...I have never dealt with that at a spa before so it did put me off a bit.

I went to SSR 2x my last vacation, not for a massage, but a facial one day and a pedicure another. I really enjoyed SSR - both times the service was excellent, it was clean and relaxing. I've never been to the other two so I can't compare but I can tell you I do have a few visits planned for my dec trip!

For me it is a toss up. The Mandara spa is prettier. It has an Asian theme that is very well carried out. However, I like the amenities at SSR better; it has a Jacuzzi and a steam room, both of which I enjoy. So I tend to choose which ever one is easier for me to get to from wherever I am staying.

Its a toss up for me too. The Mandara is more impressive to look at but I've enjoyed my treatments at SSR more. I go to the one that is more convenient based on where I'm staying.

Thank you for the responses.... I was able to find some prices for Mandara, but nothing for SSR. I assume they are around the same. Now I have to figure out how to get to either of these resorts!

Thought the spa at GF wasn't closing until Sept 17th? I wouldn't think they would allow unattended children running around at a spa. Not very relaxing at all.

The SSR spa is owned by Niki Bryan Spas. Check out the prices at the website here: http://www.relaxedyet.com/ss_treatments.asp

For transportation, are you taking Disney buses, or do you have a car?
Btw, the Mandara spa is located at the swan resort.

Actually, no, the GF spa has been closed since 2011. It doesn't reopen until Dec 2012. They have been sending GF guests to use the SSR spa (since it's owned by the same company).

All the Mandara Spas are wonderful, but I think the one at WDW is one of the prettiest. The treatments are excellent and there's nothing like sitting in the relaxation room afterward, zoning out with some tea overlooking the big shell fountain on the front of the hotel!

I've not been to SSR, but those who have gone have compared it more to a health club than a pampering type spa experience.

I was reading that management of the spas might change into Disney's hands. Supposedly it's supposed to change over to how Aulani is run. I'm not sure of the time line but curious to see how that changes things. Hoping I don't have issues with that Gift Card I plan on using in Dec!

Thank You Everyone for all the responses. I booked a Mother / Daughter package at Mandara Spa. We are going to do it the day we leave. I think a nice relaxing massage will be the perfect way to end a Disney vacation!!

I have only done the spa at SSR (and loved it) but looked at the web site for Mandera. Please post your experience there when you come back from vacation. I would be really interested. The spa looks absolutely beautiful and we are at BCV and would only be a short walk over when DH is sleeping!

Have a great time. ºoº
