We're thinking about going on one mostly likely in Grand Caymen. But there's like three different ones. We also want to do some shopping on the island. So which one is worth the money and is good.

thanks

Hopefully, others who have actually done Capt Marvins can report on it...we had it booked, but due to the hurricanes last year, our cruise never made it to GC. But, I have heard wonderful things about it and we will book them next year for our western.

I will recommend a company in Cozumel that does both dive and snorkle trips. www.eagleraydivers.com. Great people, good prices and pretty easy to get to by cab. They were great!

This is almost exactly what I was going to write! We also missed Grand Cayman last year due to huricane Ivan, but we are booked again with Capt Marvins this October.

We LOVED our snorkel trip with EagleRayDivers and can highly recommend them also - in fact we have rebooked with them also for this October!

Here's another vote for Eagle Ray Divers. We did the three-reef snorkel and had a great time!! I recommend them highly!!

We did Capt Marvin's Stingray City in Grand Cayman. The price is reasonable and all in all a great trip! The only downside we had was the water is quite rough/wavy for what we are used to. Dh was on the brink of being seasick. We have 4 kids ranging from 6-12. They are all great swimmers, but it was quite taxing. I'm not sure if they give a range for appropriate ages, but I would definitely be sure you have experienced swimmers. From other posts I have read, the roughness we experienced is the norm. The guides were fabulous!

I didn't see one that was actually named Captain Morgan's Stringry City Snorkel. There was two that said something about Stringray City so are both of them done by Captain Morgan's. Just wondering. I hope it's not to rough of waters. DH and I might both be sick then.

Captain Marvins has excursions (sting ray city etc.) that you can book independently and not through Disney. Their prices are a little cheaper. Here's their website: www.captainmarvins.com

It's been my experience to book excursions on your own as much as you can if you are looking to save some $.

Thanks for the websites.

I think I need more coffee or something this afternoon. I just realized I put Captain Morgan and not Captain Marvin. WOW!! That three day weekend is getting to me.

You're getting in the "cruise spirit" already thinking Capt. Morgan's! ;)

Any concerns about not booking directly through Disney? I assume if there was an issue with the excursion booked through Disney - they would know if the excursion didn't make it back. But if booked on your own, Disney would never know. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but for the snorkeling excursions, I leave my kids on the ship and fear that something could happen to us and our kids would be on the ship by themselves with no one knowing where we are.

I personally don't have any, but I understand your point.

I know alot of dis-boards members use Captain Marvin's alot and other "vendor's" for excursions that they don't book with Disney. So I guess it's just a matter of what you feel most comfortable doing.
